I haven't been, like I said, I know a few people who had to drop down to part time status, forced to so that the organization didn't have to offer insurance. Some were even employed as extra-help with the State of IL.

So, how did that happen. Don't say Obamacare; say I had this plan, and it switched to this plan - because...

People with pre existing conditions who were uninsured can get insurance.
People who have heart problems, cancer, asthma, etc don't have to worry they will lose their insurance due to those conditions even if they change jobs.

Most people get their insurance through their employers and the employer mandate hasn't kicked in yet. Once that happens, everyone will be effected in one way or another

But you did not need 1.000 pages of legislation to cover that group which, in any event, someone else pays for. Also it did not require disrupting cash flow of ca 10% of GDP to achieve it.

Re: Have you or a family member benefited from the Affordable Care Act?

Well I have to admit that I don't know all the ins and outs of the ACA but this year there was no increase, co pays wen't down and my coverage is expanded. That's 3 pluses but as far as I know only one of them is definitely because of ACA. The first two could be because of anything.

As for my family there are kids over 18 or young adults in college that it definitely helped. Also my uncle is a cancer survivor and is back to work, so if he switches jobs he won't have to worry about his cancer being called a "pre-existing" condition, which is bunk anyway.

Lastly and this one is sort of a negative . . . .one of my Aunts lost her coverage because what she had was crap anyway and no longer met the requirements . .so she had to go searching on that site . . . . it took awhile and it was a hassle for her but in the end she has better insurance, that actually cost a little more but its real insurance. It's BCBS not Billy Jo Bobs Medical Coverage . . . so while it wasn't the easiest for her or pleasant (she was pissed in the beginning lol) it's now better. Just took like 8 months to sort everything out

Yeah just reading a few post and it seems many people are confused by what ACA really is or really does. Now I admit I'm one of them but I understand the basics and I get that all insurance is ACA.

It seems people don't get that ACA was regulations and rules . .. . it's not an actual health care insurance . .
