    Is it really that bad?

I'm talking about the GoDaddy superbowl commercial that they just decided to pull

Sure, it's kind of twisted but I really don't see anything to get pissed off about.

None of the above. Smart choice to pull it.

It's a bit like the movie Groundhog Day.

I get the feeling that they pulled it because it wasn't all that funny to begin with.

For anyone who is in any way involved in animal rescue (like me), yes it was bad. GoDaddy made the right choice. Selling puppies over the internet isn't really a laughing matter.

The puppy is adorable though. I wish they had used him and not the content.

Call me naive but why is selling puppies over the internet worse than any other way of selling them? My cousins breed AKC shelties and I'm pretty sure that most of their contacts came through the internet.

    That was my thought.

I read about the uproar earlier today but just checked out the video a little while ago. I just figured it was all tongue in cheek and didn't see any ill intentions at all.

Based on some of the responses I can only guess that folks are tying this to puppy mills or something.

    For a few reasons.

    1. No reputable breeder would ever sell a puppy to anyone who hasn't been thoroughly checked out, including knowing the home and either doing a home visit or having someone else do it
    2. Most puppies sold over the internet (and in pet stores) come from puppy mills

AKC is a meaningless designation. It doesn't regulate the safety and security of puppies nor the safety of the breeding stock. Any purebred can get an AKC registration.
