"Puppy mill" makes me think of someone putting puppies into a meat grinder, lol.

I don't know about offensive. However there is the potential that people see it as GoDaddy supporting dog breeding in its horrid and absolutely shameful state. If GoDaddy really did make this ad without looking at the way so many kennels operate and how these dogs are bred for their looks - with little disregard for their health - it was downright irresponsible of them. Still, not something I would call "offensive".

none of the above, was a bit funny but I could see no reason to pull it. People sell puppies, that is a reality and this woman does not look like the owner of a puppy farm so I do not see the problem at all.

Sure, it's kind of twisted but I really don't see anything to get pissed off about.

    Seriously?

    they pulled that?

Only objectionist left wing cranks would object to that. I had tears in my eyes.

based on this, that old favorite TV show "The Littlest Hobo" about a stray mutt wandering the countryside would have been censored.

What do they think, everyone is as stupid as they are and we need to be protected from a ****ing feeling? Time for "progressives" to grow the **** up.

I guess this is how they take their mind off being saddled with Obamacare and a failing country.

I'm not left wing and I'm not a Progressive, and I object to the ad. The objection came from animal rescuers. We aren't tied to any political lean.

AKC is a meaningless designation. It doesn't regulate the safety and security of puppies nor the safety of the breeding stock. Any purebred can get an AKC registration.
Well, I really don't know a doggone thing about dog breeding. When I visit my cousins they always have about a dozen dogs in the yard and they're bringing people in from all over the place to see them. I think they even have some in Europe somewhere. They'll take the dogs to these little rodeo things where they have to pretend to herd sheep, follow instructions and look pretty. Beyond that I really don't know much about how it all works but the dogs sure seem to be more pampered than anything else.

Re: Is it really that bad?

It just strikes me as a really bad ad, personally. It would probably leave most viewers feeling suddenly saddened by the shallow turn it takes at the end. Those of us who have dealt with rescue animals, as you've already seen, might be downright angered. I don't really see how anyone would come away from it feeling anything positive. Whoever came up with that should be put in the dunce cap for a while down at GoDaddy HQ.

    Offensive? No. Terrible advertising? Yes.

Most of the objections are the lefty here.

Way over reaction. Its an add about a dog who doesn't want to leave..

that's all. There's no "rescue" needed here. there is no cause to think anyone is going to put a puppy in harms way....
