Not a chance. Cartoonish stances on fiscal and foreign policy are a non-starter.

Ah I missed that he was running strictly as a Libertarian. The article linked doesn't say so. An article inside that one does. I could so see Rand dropping the GOP just like his daddy did. HE could get angry that no one votes for him in the primaries and then take away all of poor Gary's votes.
There's no greater irony than a Trump supporter pointing out hypocrisy; Unless it's Trump himself.

I wouldn't vote for him because I disagree with most of his platform. I disagree with most of EVERYONE's platform. He's got no shot in hell of actually getting elected, hence we're all going to live under the rule of whoever does get into office, I'd rather vote for one side or the other that is slightly less evil than the other, rather than vote for someone who can't win and be stuck with the greater evil.

Gary Johnson is by miles the best candidate for POTUS that I am aware of (since Ron Paul retired).

I was hoping Rand Paul might be a version of his father. Unfortunately, he seems to be a highly compromised version of his father.

Gary Johnson would be great for America, Imo....and his chances of winning are practically zip.

To be POTUS today, you need four things. Ignorance, arrogance, no personality and good timing.

    How sad.

he got my vote last time... he'll get it again.

I can't see myself ever voting Dem or Rep for President.

From serious candidate to hipster candidate with flip flops and a 'cooool' college kid message. Crowd surfing, chilling at Occupy Wall Street, just in general became a populist. Their Youtube campaign commercials were embarrassing. I still voted for him. Probably will again. I just want him to be a serious candidate realistically focusing on campaign issues. NO expectation of him winning, but if he were to draw well, he could put at least a few elected representatives in play.

I get that, but if we use the excuse that a 3rd party candidate can never win and therefore fail to vote for one who is legitimately qualified then it will never happen. As it stands now the popularity of the 2 party system seems to be at a all time low so now is a great opportunity to showcase a 3rd party candidate.

voting third party is an excellent way to display the 15% favorability rate of congress, to congress

It doesn't actually change anything though, they are no better than they would be if 100% voted for the major parties.
