No I wasn't reaching for straws

Well, it seems as if you are. You couldn't really keep that argument on the Arab Spring, so you doubled down and tried to make it about the use of social media. Yes, Muslims use social media and I could show you various examples of Muslims on social media. Why, hell, all I have to do is look for #NotInMyName and find many Muslims who condemn terrorism. So what are we discussing now? Whether Islam is being taken over by Islam? Sorry, I'm not into hyperboles.

No one. This is an idiotic strawman that the more delusional leftists tell other delusional leftists about the right in order to morally preen.

Well, I was watching for the terminology play and then the playing with a statement to wrap up a whole argumentative point before jumping in. As I figured on the preening. Just sayin!

Look I showed it for what it was with your own links. That's what it was.....it was the point about their clerics using social media in this day and age. Which you still didn't catch up on those Clerics that go to Mecca.

Nor did I even mention anything about Samarra and the Shia nor their Doctrine.

I already stated the issue about Islam and its heretics. As well as the Challenge to the Saud's Ascension. Whether you believe it or not. It is what is and again, the Egyptian Leader bears that out.

How can I slow by robe? Ummm. No. You are indeed a closet conservative. Prove otherwise.

You're about as moderate as Rachel Maddow. She too accuses anyone against Obama of being conservative. 10 bucks says you watch her show. Or you are her...?

You're about as moderate as Rachel Maddow.

Lol, this made me laugh, I didn't know Rachel Maddow was against getting rid 2nd amendment, prostitution, getting rid of certain taxes, and the Democrat's 2014 passing of the nuclear option. Please stop embarrassing yourself with this line or arguments. Wait... have you proven you're not a conservative yet? :) Show us ... say 10 posts where you take Republicans to task, "centrist". :)

Well since you refused to answer how you're a moderate, I will still answer you:

Economically I'm pretty liberal, I don't think tax cuts CREATE jobs. I think they are helpful in a few instances, but I don't think it's the economic solution. Whereas, Cons believe tax cuts CREATE jobs. The biggest thing I disagree with the cons on is trickle down. I think 40 years of it shows it's not the solution.

Foreign policy: Hmm, I think cons and libs are pretty even on this one as of today, I think the big difference lies with Libertarians. I believe that IF we are to STOP ISIS, we need troops on the ground and we need to crush them like a bug. Bombing campaigns will not be effective. So Obama has to make a choice, ground raids or nothing. Otherwise we're wasting billions of tax dollars. I do agree with the cons on Israeli allies. Since I was a gvt contractor, I saw how much money the US rakes in from the weapons business with those guys.

Socially: I'm a HUGE liberal. I pretty much agree with every liberal social issue: Support same sex marriage, legalization of pot (more liberal+libertarian), pro choice, and I am an Atheist
So, when you add up all of my views and slap 'em on the Political Tests online, I come out as a Centrist.

I fit more liberal talking points than Conservative, however I'm more Republican than Democrat.

Now it's your turn :)

Well since you refused to answer how you're a moderate,

I did in fact answer. I answered with posts from the last 10 years showing how I've sided with both liberals and conservatives. Did you click the link? I don't prove my points with senseless talk. I do it by showing my actions on this forum. :)

I had tried to ask this question in a earlier thread but I did not make my implications clear enough.

This is the earlier thread http://www.debatepolitics.com/polls/214812-should-united-states-implement-racial-profiling-muslim-americans.html

My question is this: do the actions of terrorist orginazation like ISIS and al Qaeda represent the entire Islamic faith, or are we able to distinguish between the militant fanatics and the uninvolved?

Of coures they don't "represent" the entire Islamic faith. Such a suggestion for nearly any group, as it relates to a religion, is likely absurd. Save for instances where it's a clear and verifiable majority of a particular religion, or the religion has an officially recognized leader and representative (such as the Pope and catholicism), it is patentedly absurd to try and suggest that the actions of any group in the name of a religion is in and of itself representative of the religion as a whole.

However, it is equally absurd to suggest that such a group is not motivated by or acting in the name of said religion simply because a groups actions don't represent the religion as a whole, or doesn't coincide with how some within the faith interprit their religion.
