Agreed. There is enough firewall software available for parents to prevent minors from accessing online porn.

    This.

I'm fine with requiring warnings of adult content, and especially with age requirements for persons performing in porn - lots of possible problems without that.

I would however have a problem with government monitoring of all online porn and requiring that porn companies ensure their online customers are legally adults.

Firstly because it would be quite resource-intensive...we'd end up with hundreds of poor bastids required to check the probable millions of porn sites around the world to ensure they required age verification or whatever....

Now, if a given site wants to voluntarily require age verification of some kind, that's another story.

Yes, there should be laws regulating porn in relation to children. There should be no special exemption for the Internet.

They have rules, a warning box pops up to make sure that a person is over 18.

Much as I hate pornography, I don't think there's anything any government can do to outlaw it on the Internet. They have the Internet in other countries now, you know.

My vote is no, of course not. This is the responsibility of the parent/guardian or computer owner, not the government.
Since computers are in our homes and adults must own the utility for internet its thier responsibility. This seems like passing the buck to me.
Same with TV etc. If theres something you dont want your kids to see, dont let them, block it, only allow them to use the PC in a public room, get parent software etc etc
How would such a regulation work that wouldn't also end up hitting adults as well?

    Never stopped 'em before.
If you claim sexual harassment to be wrong, yet you defend anyone on your side for any reason,
then you are a hypocrite and everything you say on the matter is just babble.

How would you enforce it? Realistically.
