What needs to remain illegal is pimping, anyone receiving any portion of the income of a prostitute. Nor should the government go into the pimping business via fees and extra taxes.

All businesses that are legally run, can be run illegally. Correct?

So yeah, there are aspects of prostitution that can be/remain illegal while the business of it can/should be legal.

Why is it legal for a man to take a woman to dinner, a movie, and then to a bar for some drinks before having sex, but it's illegal for him to just give her the money he'd have spent on the food, movie and drinks and get right to the sex?

No, so why should the prostitute who is working for someone else be any different? If it is a business the it is a business and should be run as such. Now one who is self employed of course will keep a majority of their money, but when you work for someone else, the worker is not the one who keeps the majority of the money for any given transaction, but it retail, food service, plumbing, or sex trade.
Canada and Australia have some degree of legalized prostitution, but strictly forbid pimping.

Your not the only person on this forum making a case for legalizing and then legally protecting pimps. Very despicable.

But the worker has to be 18 to participate, and there should be randomly required disease screenings.
If you despise prostitutes and want them hit with taxes, why do you want it legalized? Illegal prostitutes are required to pay income tax. Why should they be taxed more?

And yet you have made no argument as to why a legal prostitute, who works for another, such as at a cat house, should be treated differently from other workers who perform services when employeed by others at their place of business. Is not H&R Block the "pimp" for their accountants? The local contractor for all the workers who are in the field for him? How are they any less deserving of the majority of the money they make than the prostitute?

And here again you are trying to raise the prostitute to something higher than the average worker in any other field. Why? Many items and services are taxed above and beyond the individuals' income tax, especially when the individuals are working for someone else. Again why should the prostitute be any different from any other worker?

But that's not where the issue has gone, is it?

To match this thread, the woman would first have to register with the government. She'd have to show him her license to prove it was legal for him to be with him. And she'd have to ask for a doggie-bag to take the government a portion of her meal plus a to-go cup to take one of the drinks also to the government we-take-a-cut station.

If prostitution is to be legal, then just make it legal. Not all the other control-freak and government pimping junk.

You're admiration of pimps is disgusting. Most prostitutes don't have pimps. Your messages read like you're fantasizing of how you would like things to be in a career as a pimp.

Oh, explain the EXTRA TAX an accountant - independent or working for H&R block pays - since that was your example. You can't, can you?

Isn't prostitution the perfect solution to getting laid more?
I don't have proof for any of this, but you have to wonder.

No, it's the lazy way. The other ways involve doing something productive: exercise more, get in to shape, work on your personality, make more money, get out of your comfort zone and go meet people....

Prostitution is dirty, degrading, and it cheapens humanity.

If you ask the general public, the results of the poll would not be anywhere close to what they are on this online poll. My only thought on that is that we have a weird demographic here of people who need to get out from behind their computers and go meet real women and talk to real people in the real world.

And if you think that one streetwalker is doing it because that's what she always wanted to do, I don't know what to tell you. They're normally drug addicts or have some psychological problem. A lot of them commit suicide. What you're doing is taking advantage of a vulnerable person, giving them long term scars for your short term gratification.

Using other people that way is immoral and should not be allowed.
