But if I am not conversing with them? I would only think it's rude if there are say 3 people in a conversation and 1 speaks English and the other 2 speak English and Spanish yet the 2 are only speaking Spanish. If I know someone who speaks only English is in the conversation we generally speak mostly English unless there is someone who only speaks Spanish, at which point I will alternate so everyone can be involved and understand. Not really a big deal. When I go somewhere and they are speaking in another language I don't understand, it never bothers me. I actually love to hear all the different ways people talk, even if I don't understand a word.

I agree. He's created racial tension that didn't exist. He takes sides with black criminals before the facts of the case come out. It's the definition of racist.

Also, Obama did nothing about the black panther party standing at voting stations armed to the teeth with bats and clubs. If I were the President, I would have condemned those acts.

I agree. He needs to lead the nation...everyone in it, not try and be the leader for black people. I feel like he's neglecting Americans as a whole, and focusing on black people. The only colors that should matter to Obama should be red white and blue. And maybe green...because we're kinda broke

Thank you for sharing. My point remains the same. Every person on earth is a little racist in some way. I don't think there's much room for debate. However, it's my opinion and your temper tantrums won't change it.

There are different levels of racism, some so low many people wouldn't consciously think of it as racist without certain factors being brought to their attention. It can go from "lynch the n-words" on one end to the interviewer not being able to pinpoint it but "I just don't see the leadership qualities in Tyrone" so he doesn't get promoted affecting his income and thus quality of life for years and even decades. Joining the KKK and burning crosses on the lawns of black people everyone would agree is racist but its no as easily noticed when jurors are statistically more likely to convict a black male than a white female or the proven unequal sentencing for the same exact crimes black men receive by the courts more than any other demographic group.

Funny true story. I have a co-worker who I consider to be a good friend as well. One day she shared with me she really doesn't approve of interracial marriages. I then brought to her attention she was interracial married, not to a black guy but to an Hispanic guy. She then turned purple; it never dawned on her before. Often the same people who claim to be against interracial marriage have no problem with white-oriental, white-Indian, white-Jewish or white-Hispanic marriages. Their problem is with black people. They don't hate them, they just don't think being married to them is wrong. IMHO that is also racist.

When many people think about race, its either black or white. We see this when people accuse about black history month, the NAACP or the United Negro College fund of being bigoted. These same people have never labeled the Jewish Anti-Defamation League, China Town, Cinco de Mayo that celebrates Hispanic culture, Oktoberfest that celebrates German-American culture and heritage, or St. Patrick's Day that celebrates Irish-American heritage as bigoted. Why? It seems they don't see blacks as one of many groups that make up America but rather the polar opposite of white always in a racial sense. It might be the only think that'll make them somewhat happy ...maybe...is for blacks to renounce their history and heritage, something they would never ask Americans of Jewish, Irish, Greek or German heritage to do.
