Well you could also argue Christianity forces the morality of acceptance of kings and monarchs.

Religion should not play any aspect into political thought ib today's age

Yes because all Christian nations have kings and monarchs. :doh

Its odd that you dont recognize that politics is its own religion, and in the case of leftism a more destructive and bloody one.

I think you might gain some insight from the video.
 
Nihilists, narcissistic, hypocritical, and more...

That said, the republicans have their own set of problems.

There are far too few that have been consistent that past 14 years, and spoken out against the republicans and democrats, rather than spouting off against the problems of one while forgiving their own party for the same things.

Isn't Jesus a king? Couldn't you argue that European monarchies started with the spread of Catholicism?

It wasn't until Europe started immersing in religious revolutions through science did the monarchs really start become questioned.

The idea of God is the surrendering of your individuality to a king. I do think religion is beneficial in Building communities but for that very reason we need it away from politics

Im not religious but Jesus was not an earthly king, and in any case is a lefty dictator better?

And isn't politics a community? If not what is it?

"Thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven" meaning Jesus will be the king of kings for a thousand years after revelations

What religion does is build communities but also excludes other people when it is the main focus of politics. It's a double edged sword for individual liberty theory

You are all over the place. Jesus as king is metaphorical-there isn't a local on earth where he is physically king.
And politics dont exclude people? Conservatives are constantly told they are evil, racists, sexists, bigots, homophobes, etc by the left for its personal political benefit.

So do tell, how do you reconcile that?

Really would a Christian priest help a Buddhist before a Christian?

I agree the Christians and consetvatives do have the worst wrap with MoDern society and I see the purpose for religion but it needs to be out of politics because it has a way to divide people on things that are out of humanities control

I'd be surprised to see any clergy member ask anothers religion before helping them but thats a silly hypothetical. And in any case there are plenty of cliques within the left, with a much bloodier history.

And once again, politics is its own religion.

He questions whether the left 'exhibits' moral nihilism. Either he doesn't understand what the word 'exhibit' means or he's not sure what 'moral nihilism' means. In either case, he's proving that 25+ years of schooling won't buy you an ounce of critical thinking. He's not a serious poster, people. Why you guys get so bent out of shape by a poster who isn't serious is beyond me. :lol:

Your opinion is noted. However, you seem to lack critical thinking skills as exhibited by this thread. For example, you seem to have ignored that you've participated in threads where leftist posters have discussed the morality of waterboarding. You seem to under the idea that it is moral because Navy SEALs get it as part of their training. Others have said it is immoral because it makes us like those who would waterboard SEALs.

After all that, you still make a thread asking whether 'the left' exhibits moral nihilism. How can that be if we have hundreds of leftist members discussing what is and isn't moral? As I said, you exhibit a lack of critical thinking skills as you haven't even paid attention to the discussions you yourself are involved in. Maybe getting a second opinion on your doubts is required? :)

Not if you're in a nursing home watching reruns of the three stooges on Antenna TV and they come and change your depends every couple of hours, which are highlights of the day. Other than that, there ain't much else to do on a laptop.
