Racism exists, and governmental financial policy helps keep it active. Most of the inner cities are under horrible economic attack and what has happened is it's become an unintentional systematic racism. Too much of a welfare state lowers the actual drive to progress in the market. The drug war is economically destroying the actual ability of drug users to grow out of their habit, as well as creating black market crime. Due to that black market crime, a lot of businesses wont open up shop in the inner city making it harder for people in the inner city to have any actual economic stability.

I believe there is systematic racism, however i think it's an Unintentional outcome of the welfare state, war on drugs, etc etc. the worse thing as a nation would be to blame white people for it rather then understanding too much government does this

The foolish thing is to not understand the difference between racism and racial bigotry. There will be plenty of that in this thread.

People have always had issues distinguishing between an individual's prejudices and institutionalized racism. But no matter. The source is just as important as the result in this conversation, as they both speak to the person involved.

Institutionalization is not required for systemic impacts. While today the institutionalization of racism is virtually wiped out, as such policy is illegal, there remains systemic privilege. Thus, a white and black racial bigot carry different social implications; the former is capable of perpetuating SP while the latter is not. The former perpetuates racism, societal injustice - racism, while the latter does not and is merely a bigot.

While true, there is a root to it all and it explains well why racism and prejudice is still alive and well today.

The root is ignorance. Racism is perpetuated today by those that would claim racism and racial bigotry are the same thing.

Close, very close. The root of any prejudice is ignorace, which points to education being a natural answer. Matters are made worse by those that claim racism and bigotry are the same thing, but the net effect of either one is undesirable for everyone involved. It is not racism to make the confusion, just more lack of understanding. Our side arguement takes us further away from what we really should be talking about.
