Who prays to a zombie?? And as a non believer why would you want anything to do with Holy days?? Other then getting new dollies, what's the point of your participation?

Um, what do you call it when the dead come back to life? Yeah, zombies.

And you don't have to beleive in much of anything to enjoy giving gifts to friends and family, enjoy spending a day with all the family, and so on. That more than anything is what modern christmas is.

I find it funny that all this "keep the Christ in Christmas" folk complain about things being said while engaging in the mass consumerism and unbridled greed of modern christmas. Keep the Christ in Christmas, don't give in to greed. It's a deadly sin afterall.

From my experience the ones who celebrate the REAL meaning of Christmas are not the ones going into debt for Christmas gifts. It seems to be more of the secular folks who focus on the big ticket gifts and trying to out spend the other person. But as far as giving some one a gift? I see nothing wrong with it. And the more america becomes secular the more materialistic it becomes.

No one hates Christmas, its just that most people don't feel as though their rights have been violated when they get a card in the mail that says Season's Greetings rather than Merry Christmas.

So why isn't the reverse also true? We all know what "Seasons Greetings" or "Happy Holidays" means. Why not just say that?

Yes, I do agree with him. I'm not Christian, but I celebrate. It's a time of year that people are loving and generous, and are doing what they can to try and make th e lives of other people, better. It's not so much about the religion, as it is about the spirit, to me.

Zombies are the walking dead, they are not alive.

Complaining about things like people saying Happy Festivus or whatever is about as PC as you can get. Why is it that those who whine about political correctness are the ones who practice it the most?

What are you talking about? The problem in your (poor) example wouldn't be people saying Happy Festivus but pretending Merry Christmas is somehow horrible to say.

No one cares if you say Merry Christmas. But if you say Happy Holidays, heads explode.

Its interesting to hear your ideas of what Christianity is.

I agree with you. Ben Stein is in fact Jewish.

Why would anyone be offended either way?

Saying Happy Holidays (which is actually more accurate) removes Christ from Christmas and is seen as an insult by some Christians.

Political correctness means behaving in a way which is pleasing to the majority of people. More precisely, it involves behaving in a way which doesn't offend large groups of people. As the majority of people in this country are Christian, the politically correct action to take would be to celebrate Christmas in the way they want it celebrated. Refusing to abide by the norms the majority of the country has set when it comes to Christmas is the politically incorrect thing to do.

I agree with your conclusion but not the premise, PC is about censorship to impede honest discussion, its a means to an end. If the majority decided its cool to offend a small group would you be cool with that?

PC is used against a majority all the time.

What's that diagram? If you are Christian or not Christian and someone says "Merry Christmas," you say "Thank you, you too." If they say "Happy Holidays," you say "Thank you, you too."

No need to be an uptight ass about it.

Oh Bull****. If someone is nice enough to wish you "Merry Christmas," "Happy Holidays," or even "Happy Kwanzaa," just thank them for the well wishes and wish them the same. Otherwise you're just being an uptight ass.

But of course, with a name like that. :2razz:

Not necessarily, my mother had a friend from her school days named Stein. Relatively good Catholic - not the most devout person you'll meet, but not Jewish.

Bruce Springsteen isn't Jewish either, for the record.

And the lefty squad hates Christmas but wouldn't outright vote for as much. Who saw that coming?
:lamo Good rebuttal. A lot of thought put into that one. "Leftys hate Christmas". Do you have any critical thinking skills?
