Who prays to a zombie?? And as a non believer why would you want anything to do with Holy days?? Other then getting new dollies, what's the point of your participation?

On a superficial level, it's because the lights and tree and fire are festive. That's innate. Man loves colored lights and fires. When I was a child in Maryland, the Gentiles had festive lights and we Jews didn't. I didn't like that. I saw no reason why the Gentiles should have all the fun and I still don't. Having those lights and a tree -- that's what I always wanted -- to have colored lights and to be a part of the dominant culture
Is he saying he wanted to a white Christian protestant and because of that, we should all strive be part of the dominant white Christian protestant culture? Jeez Ben, if you're so ashamed of your Jewish heritage, just convert and publicly repudiate your Jewish culture. Don't try and get the rest of us to do so because you don't like the fact that you were born a Jew.
I refuse to accept the view that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism and war that the bright daybreak of peace and brotherhood can never become a reality. - MLK

The left side of his face seemed more droopy than usual. Hope he is not stroking out from his excitement at being a Jew with a Christmas tree.

Can Red not participate in the general celebration of American Christmas?
You know the time is right to take control, we gotta take offense against the status quo

Christmas always was about giving and receiving presents. Christians tried to change it into being about Jesus, but no one really bought it, not even Christians.

Um, what do you call it when the dead come back to life? Yeah, zombies.

And you don't have to beleive in much of anything to enjoy giving gifts to friends and family, enjoy spending a day with all the family, and so on. That more than anything is what modern christmas is.

    I like it, voted yes.

From my experience the ones who celebrate the REAL meaning of Christmas are not the ones going into debt for Christmas gifts. It seems to be more of the secular folks who focus on the big ticket gifts and trying to out spend the other person. But as far as giving some one a gift? I see nothing wrong with it. And the more america becomes secular the more materialistic it becomes.

So why isn't the reverse also true? We all know what "Seasons Greetings" or "Happy Holidays" means. Why not just say that?
