Its becoming very clear that you do "care" is it not?

I like the peace and love part and if Ben Stein wants to like that too, good on him. What he believes or practices won't alter a thing about what I like about Christmas. I'm certainly not going to argue and fight on a troll thread about peace and love.
And yet you came here to fling poo? Makes sense. Look, have a Merry Christmas.

Likely. But there was no reason to turn the whole Roman calendar on it's head when they didn't know.

I don't seek to offend, only to inform. Early Christians refused to celebrate Christmas because of its pagan origins and iconography.

Won't answer the question? I didn't think you could.

He also said, as I pointed out -

the Gentiles had festive lights and we Jews didn't. I didn't like that. I saw no reason why the Gentiles should have all the fun and I still don't. Having those lights and a tree -- that's what I always wanted -- to have colored lights and to be a part of the dominant culture.
If he really cared for the "Christ" part, he'd be a Christian, but he's not. That's fine, I'm not judging him for not converting. He wanted the cultural attachments around Christmas - the "holidays" if you will - without the religious part. That's not what you think he said, but it is what he said - he wanted the holidays without the Christ part of Christmas.

    But I do promote courtesy

I read somewhere that you and your family gather for meal nearly every week.

That's like Christmas every week.... pretty cool
