That was one of my main concerns. Any rational review of modern politics suggests it is beyond easy for Democrats to bait Republicans into talking about social matters. Libertarians, Independents and other social moderates are in play.

But to your point, the current political climate on Immigration puts Republicans in a condition of alienating a large and still increasing voting demographic in this nation. That card can be played at any time.

I didn't know that Al Jolson was President. Obama is only half black. Anyone with a half a brain would not claim him for any race.

I like how it's baiting to get the people who want power over the whole country to talk about the things they want to do with that power. You could call it baiting if Republicans didn't constantly act on those positions, but they do. Anyone besides bible-thumpers, racists, and misogynists (often all three) SHOULD be turned off by what conservatives have to say on those subjects. They say disgusting things, and then they do disgusting things when they hold elected office.

That's an idiotic statement, I dare say that a good portion of the blacks are of mixed race. President Obama is not half back, he is black. Got it??

How else would you describe what we have all seen in recent times when it comes to political discourse on social matters? It was not a statement of support for those positions, just a realization that when in trouble Democrats have a card they can play at just about anytime. And I descrive it that way as often Republicans walk right into the issue talking from a position of eventual alienation of votes.

I think Warren has a large populist following. If she can entice diehard Democrats
she would have a chance. She will not have Democratic Party support at a National
level until she makes a truce with Wall Street and the Big Banks. If she does that
she loses populist support, A rock and a hard spot, don't ya' know?

Political discourse on social matters? I would describe it as some people, almost all of whom are conservative politically, want to keep people who aren't their ideal race, class, gender, religion, or sexuality as second class citizens, either through force of law or by social ostracizing. If there were not such a loud voice advocating these actions, then it wouldn't be an issue in the discourse. You're putting the cart before the horse. The problem is these horrible views and the incredible harm they cause, not that opponents point out these viewpoints.

She certainly could but it would depend mightily on her opponent and what happens between now and election day. I think she is a much weaker candidate than Hillary Clinton.

Wow, does Obama know that his mother was WHITE? Evidently you don't know that. Class over.
