Obama the n-word

Have you personally heard (in real life) someone call the President the n-word?

I can't recall hearing him called that. Then again, I live pretty far north in a rather liberal city. So that might have something to do with it.

So you don't have the link either. To be fair, you didn't make the claim.

I didn't make the claim either, but I saw a video clip of it a while back. A quick google shows lots of hits:

Limbaugh: I Hope Obama Fails - The Rush Limbaugh Show
After Five and a Half Years, "I Hope He Fails" Remains the Most Memorable Expression of Opposition to Obama - The Rush Limbaugh Show
Rush Limbaugh's Shocking Words for President Obama | Fox News

I didn't read any of these because as I've said, I saw the original video. If you want other sources, just google "Rush Limbaugh wants Obama to fail"

No, he wasn't called a "nigger" all that much that I can recall. People just opted for "Kenyan" instead.

I've heard it on tv talk shows, more than once, and was frankly shocked. I've also heard it once while out shopping, from someone I didn't know. I suspect that if it is bandied about frequently, it would be a groups of like-minded people since such a characterization of POTUS would be incredibly offensive to most people, regardless of their political affiliation.

Yeah, I have indeed heard... and read on this forum... that rather obvious piece of race-baiting garbage. My assessment of the character of anyone who does that drops immediately.

It does provide a speedy way to know whose posts to read and whose to scroll past.

"Obama wants Americans to get Ebola"

LOL

Don't you mean Obola!!!!!

That was ridiculous but to be fair that's so yesterdays news to the wingnuts. Like magic, Ebola is no longer a crisis and they've turned their attention elsewhere.

I did hear an interview with Ernest Bai Koroma..President of Sierra Leone...who said..''Thank you for all your help...now we have other diseases that we need to tackle''

Cash would be nice..

I would think the people in Sierra Leone would disagree that Ebola is no longer a crisis.... it may not be a current headline in the US but that can change any time. That Obama wants anyone to get Ebola is ludicrous... a more fair criticism may be that he has not done enough or made it a high enough priority to prevent Ebola in the US or to address the disease in Africa.

I actually think it is amazing that it has not got to the UK or USA..things could have been so different..

The larger question, at least for me, is whether we are now prepared for whatever pandemic may come our way.

I think the problem was treated at the roots..simple hygiene..

"I hope he fails" not equal to.jpg "I hope the economy fails".

I know you know that.

Given the tepid response and politicization of Ebola, the answer is a definite no. The larger question was dismissed out of political expediency.... no one wants to really address that bigger issue until it threatens millions in their home districts.

And that's why Ebola ultimately devastated the United States and its once proud citizens were reduced to cannibalism.

Not only have I heard, I agree with others who use it and have used it describing him myself. (somewhere on my list of infractions is the post I did so on this forum)

But then again, there are differences in the usage of the word. I for one never use it as a description of race, but rather a description of personality and actions. After all, niggardly (being stingy or selfish) has nothing to do with race, so why should the N-word, which is from the same base be used for race. It's a perfectly good word, when used correctly.

It sounds like using the n word makes you very gay.

I don't know where you are getting your information, but "niggardly" and the n-bomb do not come from the same linguistic roots.

I do especially enjoy your "when I use it, it's not about race" disclaimer. That's what they all say.

Correct! [game show "correct answer" sound]

Niggardly derives from the word "niggling," and has no common origin with nigger.

I remember a guy saying this about him..."A few years ago, this guy would have been getting us coffee," but Ive never personally heard anyone referring to him as a nigger. There are many however that do...it would be silly to think there are no racist individuals that would speak of him in such a manner.

I am from alabama and live in florida. I never heard anyone refer to obama in any racial expletives. I refuse to use the term "n word" because i find it ridiculous that is the legitimate substitution for the word ni##er. So juvenile. Anyway, take that for what its worth

I know you know that.

And I know that you know that I never said that it did.

Also, I now know that you weren't really interested in any links, but were simply making a discrediting gesture. I will remember that in the future rather than accepting a request at face value, and trying to be helpful!
