    I don't know anyone named Religion so I don't know what that person would own or claim to have created.

    Legally, you are required to use the word "witty" instead of clever whenever you are addressing my failures.

    On topic, I was just curious on what the OP meant when she says "substitutes." I think it's an easy argument to make that religious beliefs have influenced the value systems of a signigicant population of people both today and throughout history and I wondered if that was the effect the OP wished to address regarding the substitution of religion with something else.
