My decision does not matter for naught.

Ultimately the grand jurys decision was that the officer is not guilty.

That has to be enough otherwise the legal system no longer would function.

Justice won't be served until the vandals and violent rioters are charged and punished for their crimes.

This is why I think it's so dangerous for the federal government to step in and press charges if they should decide to do so. It would then invalidate the grand jury's decision, and destroy what little trust blacks have in that process.

I agree that we should have some faith in the justice system but what is your personal view?

Anyway, I agree about the poll. The subject is really too broad for a simple answer.

    1. The legal process went down pretty much the way it should have considering all the outside political baggage attached to it.
    2. Wilson isn't going to be cited criminally but he's damned sure not coming through this whole thing uninjured. There's no "justice" in that.
    3. The good folks of Ferguson are pretty much getting screwed as their property values tank and they can no longer tell folks where they're from without the stigma of all this crap being an issue so there's no "justice" there.
    4. The bad folks of Ferguson are most likely going to get a walk on all this so there's no "justice" there.

Maybe somebody got some "justice" out of all this but they'd probably have to fill me in on what their definition of the word is because I'm just not seeing a winner here.
    Greetings, Lutherf.

The only possible "winners" at the moment might be those thieves that stole liquor or TV's or anything else they wanted during the looting, but I'm confident that Karma will take care of that situation!

Are you telling me you are precisely in the middle with no lean in any direction? Have you taken one of those political spectrum tests online? That might give you an idea of where you lean.

For one thing, I don't like the "left/right" view of politics as it is too simplistic. The 2d spectrum is a little better as it covers more ground but it is still a flawed representation of a more complex reality.

But if we MUST use left and right, yes I lean right on certain issues... and a little left on others, and sort of libertarian on some things, and sort of "none of the above" on others.

But mostly I'm a centrist because I don't usually support extreme views or policies as I don't feel they serve the greater good of the citizenry.

Would it be so hard to add one more poll option for those who view themselves as something 'other' than left or right?

We have various facts of the case (forensic evidence, testimony) and we have a finding by the jury. What do you think?

and without having witnessed the event, we can't know for certain whether or not justice was served.
