I live in St. Louis. Blacks hate whites, and whites generally stay away from blacks. There is serious racial tension that we don't talk about. I work for a local television news station. There are shots fired at police every night, and they are all black males. Blacks hate cops.

If this cop is found innocent all ****ing hell is going to break loose.

There's is NO DOUBT that cop is innocent. He killed a street thug that tried to kill him.

The fact of the matter is no one has seen the entire evidence except the people in the court room. There was even a second party who did an autopsy that was independent from the city's. What is in that report? I don't think there has been adequate information released on the web, and if it was released on the web, I don't think it is reliable. I talked personally to the police chief of St. Louis as well as the Mayor (from my job) and they told me even they do not know the verdict. I believe them. Considering the weight of this case, the jury is making sure this is done right.

No body knows, that is my point. It can go either way, and I live in a municipality right next to Ferguson. Businesses are boarding up, and my friend quit her job because she has to drive thru Ferguson and she doesn't feel safe. The whole city is deadly nervous, because we know how angry the black community is going to be if that cop is found innocent. Whether or not he deserves it or not is besides the point, they are going to explode with force. The National Guard is definitely necessary.
 
Does anyone really think Gov. Nixon hasn't been tipped off to the way the grand jury is leaning with its questions, answers and body language?

As for his political future as a mod/con DEM, it's over.
DEM minorities will never vote for him again and the GOP simply doesn't stray .

I don't know if that's true or not. I think Nixon has done a pretty good job during his run as Governor. I know, for sure, he has fought very hard for education and public schools. That alone is enough to earn another vote from me, regardless of what party he runs under.
 
Based on the actions of the protesters, looters, thugs and criminals. I say he is doing the right thing.

i was born and raised there....,most of my extended family still lives there

florissant, hazelwood, creve coeur, st charles, and a few others

they are scared ****less right now.......

it is a ****ing powder keg, and instead of trying to tamp it down, holder and his cronies keep throwing more gasoline on it

i expect a full fledged riot.....i expect the guard will have to kill a number of people

i am hoping i am wrong........but we will see by friday (expect the grand jury response on friday morning)

So what have they done to address the root causes of this instability, inequality, and injustice?
 
Given the already existing track record of violence, rioting, and destruction of private property, I think it wise to have the NG posted. Further, I'd post a squad or two at each and every target building with automatic weapons. Large ones. 50 CALs and the like. The NG troops should have orders to smile a lot, and be friendly, greeting everyone with a hardy 'Good Morning Ma'm or Sir'.

The hope isn't to have to actually use these troops and these weapons. The hope is to be so intimidating that absolutely no rioting or violence happens.

Peaceful protests should proceed unimpeded as I believe they are now.

do you realize that most of the trouble makers are not from the area? right?

they are coming in from chicago, detroit, and other places around the country

and what inequality and injustice are you referring to?

this case is about one cop shooting one perp

was the shooting justified? i think that is what the grand jury is trying to determine

the shop keepers, and owners of homes and businesses in the st louis area are scared.....

and the worst part....insurance doesnt cover riot damage......

tell me....what would you do if your home was in the area?

Some of the protesters are using fear, knowingly and purposefully trying to intimidate the people that live there.

People dont like being threatened, they don't like living in constant fear or being held hostage by a bunch of thugs who're promising violence if they don't get their way.

It does nothing to help the plight of the people who live in Ferguson and who struggle with things like poverty and inner city violence.

Americans are going to just turn a blind eye to that because threats whether they're carried out or not instill contempt.
