Take the roads, I have a 4x4. Take the cops. I can build a invasion proof home, I carry a gun, I can hunt and people lived for millions of years without electricity.

Actually, you just need to hire a security force. You would get better security for your money than the cops, and they wouldn't throw you in a cage. As for power, you can put solar panels on your roof.

I probably define conservatism differently than most of you do. I long ago adopted the libertarian (little "L") i.e. classical liberal ideology embraced by essentially all of the Founders. I think my basic philosophy in that regard has not changed much as I have grown older, except for increasing respect for that philosophy as I see how corrupting and destructive government becomes as it gets further and further away from that philosophy.

Not all people do. Plus, not everyone has the same types of families. My family is definitely not the typical family nor have we been.

Kinda the opposite really. We count on citizens being educated and stable, we count on infrastructure being safe and reliable, we count on a monetary system that's consistent, we count on arbitration if we perceive an injustice, etc.

The simple act of ordering a 4x4 part without government would be nothing like it is now.

Private roads, schools, fire departments, and security forces either exist or did exist at some point in history. Furthermore, you can power your house and having drinking water without government involvement. As for arbitration, there is no reason to assume that requires government.

The Founder's concept is simple really. The federal government does what it is instructed to do via the intent of the Constitution and nothing else. And everything else is otherwise left to the states and local communities that the people will structure as they choose without interference from the federal government.

Those private agencies have no obligations to public citizens. I'm a public citizen.

What in the world is a public citizen?

An attempt at clarity by juxtaposing the conflicting interests and limited scope of for profit service providers with the needs of citizens. Apparently it was too distracting to be effective.
