Inscriptions on a statue do not define a nation...
I don't often change my signature, but this was just too over the top to let anyone forget with what this country is up against...

The primary reason a country has an immigration policy (and ALL countries do, BTW) is to manage the influx of immigrants with the capacity to provide. When you have too many people here you lose the capacity to take care of anyone, including yourself. The premise that we must not be pro immigrant because we dont throw open the gates to EVERYONE is simple minded at best.

The US brings in MILLIONS of legal immigrants every year, not counting those that come here on student, tourist, and work visas. We are very pro immigrant.

I understand that. I was only referring to the statue, hence the poll.

The statue was a gift from an ally, not an invitation to break our laws...

You have to admit the message behind the statue is misleading.

No, in fact I don't, but thanks for trying. Here's what I would like to know. What was your reaction to a Marine being held in a Mexican jail for seven months after making a wrong turn and the government's apparent lack of concern?

I'm only vaguely familiar with the story, and I don't see what it has to do with the price of tea in China. I guess it was bad for the Marine. Why?

Why does this not surprise me. Good night, you're not worth anymore keystrokes...

Are you saying that Lady Liberty is a breathing piece of copper and can change her meaning any time at a whim to further her political agenda ? She must be a progressive liberal.
