The best chance we have at changing the system slowly, without waiting for it to fail or tearing it apart, are term limits and campaign reform. The system isn't as broken as the administering of it is.

Unfortunately that has a snowball's chance in hell of happening.

Unfortunately that has a snowball's chance in hell of happening.

Probably true, even though Joe Lieberman joined with Senator McCain to lead the fight for campaign reform it never gained any traction.

I honestly don't believe that you can use this system to change the system. It has been used to benefit a few at the expense of the many. It's like saying, "I want to reform this broken and shattered system, so now let me join in this broken and shattered system." It honestly doesn't make any sense, at least to me.

It's the only voice we have left. But, I don't believe America will make a choice. We will wait until it all falls apart.

It's the only voice we have left. But, I don't believe America will make a choice. We will wait until it all falls apart.

I vehemently disagree with that. I honestly think that we should just drop out of the system where we can and form alternatives that actually work. We're already doing this like that with media, so why not apply it to other projects as well.

You are correct in a sense. We can drop out, but we must still obey the laws and pay the taxes. In some places in America now you actually have to pay taxes to live off the grid. Individually it is an option, en masse it will not be a conscious choice.

There is an interesting dystopian novel that I've just finished reading. You might like it, Spark by John Twelve Hawks. The novel takes place in the world we will all probably live in within 5 or 6 years.

Twelve Hawks is quite an interesting guy in his own right. I've been reading him for years. He lives as anonymously as one can. In a very contemporary way he has dropped out. I admire him for his vigilance and for what he has been able to accomplish.

Obama's Secret Deals With Saudi Arabia & Qatar

(The following report reconstructs U.S. President Barack Obama's foreign policy, on the basis of what I have deemed to be reliable news accounts of his Administration's actions, not of its mere words. This reconstruction is grounded in the linked-to news-sources, all of which I have investigated and verified -- and some of which I wrote. The ones that I wrote are themselves sourced to the links within those reports, all of which I have, likewise, personally checked and verified. Consequently, the chain of verifications back to this reconstruction's primary sources is available to any online reader, and every reader is encouraged to track back to its ultimate source any allegation that might appear to be at all questionable to him or her in the present article. Not only will this exercise be helpful to the reader concerning that given point at question, but it will open that person to an associated world of deeper discovery, which I hope that this news-report and analysis will do for many readers, and which is the reason I wrote it: so as to share with others what I and other careful and cautious researchers have discovered, though it might be, in some instances, starkly at variance with what our Government, and most of the press, have been more commonly presenting as ‘truth' about these matters. At least, this exercise will provide an alternative frame of reference regarding these issues, an alternative possibility to consider, and which I have verified, from every root to every branch, in this tree of historical reconstruction of the events.)"

"The recent bombings in Syria, and in Ukraine, are a business-operation being carried out as a war (and also very profitable for U.S. armaments-makers, who likewise are controlled by America's aristocrats and so this is a double-whammy for America's aristocracy -- and U.S. arms-makers have consequently been soaring on the stock market). It's basically a grab by U.S. and Sunni aristocrats, from Russian and Shiite aristocrats, of the market to supply oil and gas into Europe. And it provides other advantages, too, for U.S. aristocrats."

Is this an International energy war?

Is the USA allying with scumbags?

Is this good business for USA weapons manufacturers?

Is there anything about liberty and democracy involved here?

Did the USA vote to support Big Energy wars?

Does the article and links explain clearly the "Big Picture?"

Anti-American BS from a website that looks like it was written by a little kid that has a bad grasp on the HTML language. That and the incredulous link to Globalresearch.ca in the very article that is posted here. There is one rule when it comes to the GR website. Whenever someone makes a remarkable claim and cites Globalresearch, they are almost certainly wrong.!!! That complete with links to other random blogs with information that can barely be looked at (thanks to the horrible site layout) and cannot be verified. I wouldn't believe a single thing on this site!

You wanna know why this news isn't on CNN or Fox News. It's because it's completely fake!!! Furthermore, if this author is indeed the same Conspiracy Theorist, RT lover, and "Alternative Journalist" Eric Zuesse of the same name. I disbelieve much more of this writing... Do you people research anything??!!

The world's only superpower does indeed have its hand in many cookie jars. It is backed by all of known human history that the strongest leads the pack. For the life of me I can't understand why some Americans are so anti-America. I suppose that they don't understand that the world is a hyper-competitive ugly mess of affairs. But that is typically not the case. I suppose then that they don't realize that being the pack leader in a hyper-competitive ugly mess we call a civilization requires that the pack leader take certain steps to ensure that its power is secured long into the future. But that too is typically not the case either. Perhaps complacency has turned into apathy? No, that does not typically happen either. What if it is the party or parties involved in writing and distributing mostly anti-American sentiments, like RT, Press TV, Alex Jones or even hostile intelligence agencies like those from Russia. Oddly enough, the criticism hurled towards America from Americans on message boards far outweigh the criticisms hurled towards Russia by Russians or Americans. Obviously, if you're comprehending what I'm saying up to this point can be simplified: foreign linguistic manipulators are exploiting gullible minds into going against their own self-interests I.e. attacking their own government and calling into question not only the President, but his administration and every other lever of power that exists. These so-called info warriors are either naively ignorant or purposely ignorant, as sowing discontent into the fabric of a society has a tendency to cause explosive moments. Anti-American Americans are quick to call out the Iranian coup of 1953 as an example of U.S. wickedness yet fail to point out the current day operation being carried out by Russia upon the United States and Ukraine and they already finished their program in Crimea resulting in its annexation. Vladimir Putin wants to revitalize the Soviet Union and he wants to destroy the United States, he's made that point perfectly clear, especially after a person has read his book which covered an asymmetrical warfare plan to create internal revolutions in the United States. The extremists who hold the view that the U.S. is all bad and accuse it for manipulating everyone and having everyone under mind control have apparently been brainwashed into either not recognizing or admitting that the Russians are masters at propaganda themselves, see: The theory that the C.I.A. assassinated President Kennedy. Many believe that, but the only important fact out of that erroneous belief is that the person who believe that is believing Soviet KGB propaganda. The same goes for believing the theory that the C.I.A. released the AIDS virus into African-American communities. Belief in that is believing Soviet KGB propaganda once again. Funnier still is that the completely brainwashed American Anti-Americans routinely tell people, "Wake up sheeple." The irony is right there: they, the caller out of so-called sheeple, are certified sheeple themselves on the account of their definitions and explanations of what a sheeple really is.

Did you write this response based on the sketchiness of the link that is posted here? if so I agree!

Did you write this response based on the sketchiness of the link that is posted here? if so I agree!

Partly, yes. But I also was commenting on how those sketchy websites influence gullible minds.

And that's where you fail. You cannot stop it. No single person can. Millions of Americans have tried to rein in executive power and power that is held by Big Business. We've failed. The fight was already lost long before I joined the pointless struggle for 'Change'. The institutions people want overturned so badly are too ingrained into the giant moving mass called the U.S. Government. While some may believe that they personally have a snowball's chance in hell to make any significant change in the way the government does its business, history has repeatedly shown that it is rarely the case. Sure, a ****storm in the media may pop up, but after six months, hardly anyone at all is talking about the ****storm that happened six months ago. Business as usual. And a protest movement is not going to unseat the D.C. or Wall Street business as usual types. It is a pipedream.

Obama's Presidency is the perfect illustration of this. It's easier to succumb to the greed and corruption than it is to rise above it. That's why only a handful of people in History have elevated to such levels and some of them might not even be real (Jesus, and others from the Bible). Some of them were just as corrupt as any one person in government is today (founding fathers) etc...etc...

I note that you have not provided one iota of information to counter the information contained within the post and its' many links. When you don't know anything, that is, of course, the correct response. Stop watching USA TV. It's not news. It's an agenda. You are the one that does not research.

2. Stop watching USA TV. It's not news. It's an agenda.
3. You are the one that does not research.

There are a few problems with your response and I will highlight them below.

1. I have provided evidence to dismiss the claims on the website that you linked to. You just chose to ignore it. A) It's not professional looking. B) It links to unverifiable sources of information. Which are often overarching conspiracy theories that make no sense whatsoever.
2. I have a hard time believing that you ignore US News. Since you are actively engaged in a US political forum and live in what I guess NY which is located in the US, based on your profile information. However, from what I can gather from that strange anti-US rant. Like how you demanded I stop watching USA TV. It appears it is you and not I who has the agenda here... I am not demanding that you don't read that weird blog. I just pointed out it's horrible layout and links to Conspiracy websites. You chose to ignore that information.
3. So have you researched Globalresearch.ca and their crazy posting history? Because I have, and I wouldn't trust them WITH a ten foot poll. They wouldn't know what to do with it!

The Public perception of Kennedy sure. The actions, of Kennedy. Not so much, but I get your point.

Same old crappola. Nothing in your post about the MidEast and the subject of discussion.

These wars give us stories for really cool movies though... we need these crisis's.

I don't discuss made up news stories. I do my best to point out why they are not to be trusted. If you actually cared about what was going on, you would know that these sources are bunk! There is no point debating about the possibility of the Earth being Flat.

As for your attack that I am anti-USA, you are absolutely incorrect, but batting 1000%. I'm a genuine patriot and pro-USA. I am anti CIA, anti "war is good business," anti Imperialism, anti Empire, anti NWO, anti CorpGov, anti Federal Reserve, anti "too big to fail" Banks, anti torture or more simply stated, I am anti Corporate and pro Working stiffs. That'd be the taxpayers.

The US wouldn't exist without more than half of those things. The other half of those viewpoints are broad generalizations that have no meaning to me thanks to various self-righteous political groups hijacking those terms for their own political agendas. Furthermore, I don't care about your viewpoints on random issues that have nothing to do with the misinformation presented in this topic. YOU posted the link full of BS and really bad sources. Why not admit it and move on? Instead, you deflect and ignore. Why?

If these are really secret deals, then how does anyone know anything about them?

I won't be reading anything posted at Weird News Daily.

Absolutely. And pray for a soft landing. May be that a soft landing is all we can hope for at this point.

When I read the OP I could not help but think of a fine Republican, President Dwight Eisenhower:

Ike was a great guy, I wish that we had a lot of Republicans like him right now.

Again you have failed to produce any evidence to refute the post. The Saudis have chopped OIL prices, USA is attempting to kill the Russian economy that relies on OIL. USA arms and supports alQueda, USA arms and supports "Moderate Syrian rebels." USA smuggles arms to Syrian rebels through Turkey. USA attempts to topple Assad. USA topples Yanukovych in Ukraine. USA color revolutions follow CIA/NED funding. USA topples Qaddaffi. USA helps military in coup in Egypt. And the list is infinite. Looks to me like the USA is the "Terror War." "War is good business, and business is good."

Transparency in our government is a joke. Congress will do nothing to legislate the laws needed to make it accountable...truly accountable. It's moving in the opposite direct. The Executive office -- obviously the same problem. The S.C., activism has become it's primary role. As you pretty much alluded to in your previous post. We haven't yet reached the bottom, but, rapidly moving our way.

None of this will change either, unless we stop bouncing between the 2 parties, the 2 which seem to have each other's back to keep themselves on top.
If there ever was a time to vote the rug out from under them, it is now.

I don't disagree. I mean that I'd like to say there's only one direction to point the finger of blame. But I'm not sure I can do that considering how our system of government has the influence it does over the social agendas of the citizens. But more importantly, the power its cultivated over the last 230 plus years to protect its on interests.

I've never been a supporter for term limits, but since the electorate apparently isn't capable of making the demands on the Washington Royalty to legislate laws, which would force them to be transparent and accountable, then term limits seems like the only remedy to get the message across.

Most people are busy trying to keep up with life on a daily basis. Most people feel removed from the roles that they have in our government, which collectively they serve as the fourth branch of government. That's an important responsibility.

How can the average working persons become more proactive in the process?

Should we insist on growing our citizens' knowledge of our system of government via our education curriculum, in a substantially more profound way than our present efforts, in order to ensure everybody thoroughly understands all of functions of government? Should we somehow force government to allow for a more effective method for the average citizen to vet political candidates who aspire to serve in a government role?

Given the critical role citizens play in preserving our Republic form of government. How can average citizens' mindset be influence to believe in the power of their role? Apathy seems to be more commonplace than average people feeling empowered by their role in our Republic form of government.

It's difficult for most people to get politically involved other than voting. When most people are concerned about how to pay bills and manage some type of balance between work and family. What can be done to the make the playing field more fair for the fourth branch of government? How can average people be empowered to create a louder voice in our system of government?

As a result of the United Citizens vs FCC ruling, how are ordinary people going to find the time and resources to compete with Super PACs and dark money that's filling the coffers of elected officials?

There's an amazing percentage of people who can't tell you who their mayors or councilmen and women are, much less who represents them in their state and federal level seats. The vetting of new candidates for the average person would seem to be much easier with the invent of the Internet. Yet, it's become a huge instrument for shelling out more outlandish propaganda that's filled with inaccurate information and/or dishonest information.

A hell of a lot of people who consume information about the politics of the day can't discern the difference between opinion and facts. That's a major advantage for political machines, political candidates, and those occupying seats in government.

Dunno where we're headed?

Thanks..
