I'd assume people spending time on a Political debate board would have 100% participation unless they are underage, barred by law (like a felony) or are not US citizens etc

I will be voting. But it's only 8:00 AM. So I haven't yet.

Not yet, but I will.

Some do not believe in voting for the lesser of two evils (or multiple evils). So while some people are political, they may not want to participate in a political system they feel is corrupt and the decks stacked in favor of corrupt parties. Also in some states with computer voting you are not allowed to vote "None of the above" and cannot do a write in choice in the abstintee ballots, so the choices are between candidates you don't want to vote for. That could also discourage people from voting.

I voted, but then I'm allowed the option of "None of these candidates".

our polls in Ohio open at 630 IIRC my wife voted around 715 since turtle Jr has to be in HS by about 7. I just got back (about a 3 mile drive) and her was no wait but 63 people had already voted in my precinct which is heavily GOP

what state is that TNE?

I'm that one guy who voted too young on the poll

But what sucks is that my private school has school today while all the public schools get a holiday.

Wasn't at the poll exactly 1st thing but was done before 7. I was the 25th ballot cast at my polling location and there were about half a dozen still voting. Looks like it's going to be a better than average turnout but not anything crazy.

voted early by mail in ballot.

imo all elections are important.

I technically should have waited to click "yes" but I'm heading out in about an hour and a half to vote. I've never missed an election.

Some states don't allow or provide for a write in candidate? In California, even when voting absentee, there is provision for write in candidates. I'd be interested to know which states disallow write-ins.

Greetings, tres borrachos. :2wave:

 Me neither! Once, years ago, I got out of the hospital after a minor surgery and went straight to vote - then I went home and went to bed, following doctor's orders!

Hi Pol,

I voted in the NH primaries in 2000 the day I was released from the hospital after my 3rd C-section. My husband didn't want to take me there but he caved. The baby was bundled up against the cold.

I stopped on my way to class this morning.

was 4th in line this morning at 7am

in and out in 15 minutes

Just got back. Pretty significant election in this state.

 You know, if I didn't go to vote, I would feel so guilty!

Good point :p It's like "I better expect all people here to be registered to vote"---"Uh, we don't register to vote in North Dakota." :p

i'll be voting after work today.

Yep, just got back from the polling place and am wearing my "I voted" sticker

Done at lunch, straight Republican ticket, retain all judges, no on med pot, no to half penny school tax.
