You guys want minority rights for gays, right? Including SSM, which inherently incorporates the right to have same-sex relations, right?

And no doubt pedophilias want their (minority) RIGHT to have sexual relations with children. They no doubt consider that their RIGHT.

So, are you ok with the pedophilias perceived RIGHT to have sexual relations with children, or not?

If no then you'd be a bigot according to RabidAlpaca's claim that I quoted in post # 244.

And if you are in favor of their right to have sex with children then IMO your view on that is morally bankrupt.

The distinction between the two is quite simple, so far as I can tell.

Pedophilia, if acted upon, harms people, specifically children.

You're grasping badly. I can substitute "equal" for "minority" just as easily and then "equal rights" doesn't fit your equation re: pedophila, because they are *totally different*. RA said that probably because there's NO other rational for opposing gay rights, except that it's a disliked minority. That's not at all comparable to pedophilia, because one involves children and the other does not. That so freaking hard to comprehend?

No, same sex marriage proponents want equal rights for everyone to marry a person of either the same or opposite se, which will mainly benefit homosexuals and bisexuals, but does no harm to anyone.

No one has a right to have sex with children, since it can be proven to cause harm, real harm, not imagined harm, in all cases.

And in the past of our own country, tens of millions of people's moral codes did not approve of interracial marriage. We still have millions of people with moral codes that don't approve of interracial or interfaith marriage. Which just goes to show morality is subjective. Which is why the specific moral code of a simple majority of the country at a given time should not be the basis for laws. Even the moral code of a supermajority at a single point should only be enacted with extreme caution, asking whether we are protecting either people from harm legitimately or protecting rights and freedom.

No this isn't facts but merely opinion. Pedophilia, when acted on, causes actual harm, same sex marriage does not.

And you are free to believe homosexuality or same sex marriage are sins, but that is still nothing but your opinion, not fact.

I always get a kick out of the posters who use vile terms like "fag" (enablers). I've never seen an anti-SSM poster on these boards use the term "fag" (unless they're quoting people like you). It's always the pro-SSM posters. That's real classy and real special, chromium.

It's because they (anti SSM) are the intellectual inheritors of the WBC, regardless how they try to mask it. They may as well be members. And yes, some of them have called for gays to be killed (in this thread even) or thrown around "perverts" "this is why i hate gays" and even sent me a message filled with "faggot". Hate is all the same

And the only reason they don't use "fag" in that context upstairs is they might get suspended. Doubtful, given it didn't happen to the asshole who messaged me, but you never know
