Changing laws and using federal courts to interfere in states legislation. The feds are abusing their power

What state legislation? Seems the various states' homosexual marriage prohibitions were the result of popular democracy, voter initiatives, ballot measures, and contrary to the Constitution's Article IV Section 4.

There is no right to marry. Can you show the right to marry in the constitution

No, but I can come really close:

Chief Justice Earl Warren's opinion for the unanimous court held that:

“ Marriage is one of the "basic civil rights of man," fundamental to our very existence and survival.... To deny this fundamental freedom on so unsupportable a basis as the racial classifications embodied in these statutes, classifications so directly subversive of the principle of equality at the heart of the Fourteenth Amendment, is surely to deprive all the State's citizens of liberty without due process of law. The Fourteenth Amendment requires that the freedom of choice to marry not be restricted by invidious racial discrimination. Under our Constitution, the freedom to marry, or not marry, a person of another race resides with the individual and cannot be infringed by the State.

I would think that it'd remain relatively constant over time.

You would think so but I am totally unsure about this. However if it isn't constant, what are some of the factors that would change the frequency of homosexual beings?

I'd say 6-10% seems like the most accurate number.

Who had post 18 in the pedophile comparison raffle? Seriously, can you guys ever discuss gays without the pedophile comparison?

I did! What do I win?

I can't think of any possible factors. It's not like fluoride in the water would make a difference, for example, or how much sun the mother gets, or whatever..

I say "...in your estimation" because, as someone else said in another thread, not all gay people are willing to admit it (for reasons of their own), so the best stats we have are most likely incomplete.

Note also, bi-sexual, bi-curious, etc., are not included in the question. Straight (pun only slightly intended ) gay only.

Well, that all depends on how you define "gay".

If you're talking Liberace gay then it's a pretty small number. On the other hand, if you're talking Tom Cruz gay then it's a somewhat larger number.

In every state that had a constitutional amendment on it gay marriage was voted down. That happened twice here in florida

There is no reason to give such a small percentage power or special rights

We are not asking for special rights, we only want what millions of straight couples take for granted every day.

You mean where the ignorant masses show up and declare that a minority needn't bother expect equal treatment?

Democracy in its finest, most barbaric fashion.

You want laws changed and you want voters votes on constitutional amendments to not count

No they stand up for their religion and against immorality

No they stand up for their religion and against immorality

Stand up for their religion, please. They use the platitudes of the wisdom of the masses to justify using the democratic process to squash the protection of a minority they displease due to their religious sympathies, yet cannot be bothered to establish State churches.
