Please just stop trying to pretend you can relate. Granted, *you* would be distressed, because *you* don't like homosexuality. That hardly applies to everyone else. It's not seen as so different where it's normalized. In communities where some of the kids have same sex parents and it's not a scary taboo subject, they're able to come out early on and it's really not a big deal.

As with adult rape isn't it more about power than sex? I would imagine that it is far easier to exert power over children than adults and as you say that makes them 'convenient' targets.

You did no such thing. I proved that being gay causes no distress that the distress comes from outside sources. You were and are wrong. Get over it.

Non sequitur. Since we do not live in a Mormon society where Mormon ideals are the law, your post is irrelevant.

And yet research shows that being gay in and of itself causes no distress. Many studies show this, starting with the seminal Hooker study. Research shows that the distress that gays feel is caused by outside sources... rejection from family and friends or societal discrimination. The link you originally provided presented research that showed that gays who were accepted by family and friends were no more likely to become suicidal than population norm, but those who were NOT accepted were 8 times more likely. This clearly demonstrates that you don't know what you are talking about and have been proven wrong... not surprisingly.

You just proved yourself wrong. It's not homosexuality that is the problem. It's the adolescent need to fit in. This happens to kids who are too short, too fat, or many other things.

Good job. You just pwned yourself.
