    Re: The Purpose of Life

There is no inherent purpose in life, everyone decides what purpose they wish to pursue.
There is nothing demonstrably true that religion can provide the world that cannot be achieved more rationally through entirely secular means.

You are providing an overly-simplistic (and generally false) trope. There are plenty of people who do say things like that (witness: Islamic State), but the world is not "full" of them.

I think each of us elect our own purpose.

As applies to me, I chose create beauty, improve yourself physically and mentally, and make other people happier.

That's the context in which I see myself, but it takes all kinds.

I do not think 10 options can cover all the meaningful purposes that one may generate for their lives.

    Re: The Purpose of Life

I chose beauty, because it is the closest thing to my answer.

The meaning of life... is to create meaning.... to make things matter. The beauty in all things.

There is neither a "correct God" nor a "God." If it existed there should have been actual empirical evidence. Serving inexistent concepts may do damage on its own.

That's why the tenth option was "fill in the blank."

However many there are, it doesn't affect the fact that the dilemma still exists.

Sure. So does the dilemma that some people are born into siamese-twin situations where the continuation of both lives threatens each.
