I voted for Romney in 2012, and he does have his flaws but we would be much better off if he won.
How? Do tell, tell us specifically how we would be better off. I appreciate your fantasy here, but what would be different after 21 months than we experience today?

Carson, Paul or Cruz would be most excellent choices for the Cons...

If Jeb Bush had balls and kept up positions like he initially started (centrist) then I could have supported him. Seems he will back off centrist positions that would gain him independent voters to secure the right wing base, and that won't work for me. I dislike most on the list. Folks mentioned Huntsman and Portman, but I agree the Huntsman campaign was like watching paint dry.

Jeb Bush is far too much of a realist and pragmatist to make it through a primary. The GOP purists will never vote for him and you need them to win the nomination. Huntsman accepted science. That was enough for him to be cast out into the cold.

Huntsman also served as US Ambassador to China under...gasp!!...the Great Satan, Barack Obama.
The highly intelligent, competent Huntsman isn't just shivering out in the cold.....he's frozen solid.

At this point i am leaning Paul or Carson

I like the idea of a president that has done something other than politics. I also share many of the same positions of paul and carson. Not all, but i dont miss the forest for the trees. I would support any of the above candidates tho if they won the primary.

    What say you
Its over for mitt and Ben Carson will NEVER be president thats just silly. He has as much of a chance as Palin, Bachmann and Cain . . .ZERO

as for the rest ,there are pros and cons to all of them but a big thing for 2016/voting will be social issues. Just the way it is unfortunately. Im not saying thats how it SHOULD be but its the way it will be.

So all of them would have to run thier campaign in other directions, if any of thier "platforms" have anti-abortion and anti-equal rights stuff in them its a sure lose, just how it is right now. If they run on promises to stop/ban abortions and deny gays equal rights the run themselves out of the race.

Should it be how ANY candidate is solely judged, no but if you highlight those issues they can make or break you and in this case they will break them.

It be awesome if our elections dealt with REAL politics.

So by that logic you think and insider is a good thing. What is it about pauls foreign policies that bother you.

And you think carson is unqualified due to which beliefs?

Is this all anyone has on him? Why does it matter? Look at where he stands on the issues. And he is also a damn fine doctor from what i read.

Changing gears on abortion is not going to happen. Its an evil practice and republicans will continue to fight it. Rand paul is an antifederalist, which is why i support him and could see him wanting the fed government out of the gay marriage debate
