I really hope neither runs. I have had enough of the Clintons and enough of the Bush's. Its inconceivable to me that the best both parties have to offer is from these same two families. Jim Webb is rumored to be considering running for the Dems and I would actually consider voting for him if he ran. I could never vote for Hillary, though, so if it came down between the two I would have to vote for Jeb Bush.

I heard on the news last night that Jim Webb is giving very serious thought to running. He'd be a much more viable option for me than Hillary. He had an outstanding military career and served under Reagan as Secretary of the Navy. Not sure of his economic ideas but he's a spitfire.

Set aside his family and explain what it is that you dislike about Jeb Bush. Everything negative I hear about him is either standard "He's a conservative, therefore I hate him." or "He's a Bush, therefore I hate him." Set aside the rhetoric and preconceived notions and look at the man and let us know what issues you have with him.

Whom will you vote for, if you vote at all?

I won't be voting, if it happens that way. Queen Hillary the 2nd vs. King Jeb the 3rd? LOL - thanks, but no thanks. Think I'd rather dive into a den of cobras, then have to choose between one of those clowns.

What's scary is that it may just happen - goes to show how dumb we are becoming, imo.

Discuss - poll soon to follow.

I agree completely and am struck by the notion that so many people would be willing to share such a limited office with yet another Clinton or Bush! Hell no.

No more Bush's, no more Clinton's. We've only had 44 presidents in our history, we can do better then three Bush presidencies.

Gary Johnson - or whichever Libertarian is on the ballot ;)
Gary Johnson was a great Libertarian candidate...as a republican. As soon as he became a declared Libertarian and the Libertarian candidate he went all hipster whackjob. VERY disappointed.

Jeb was the last Florida Governor worth remembering in recent times, but I wouldn't give him my vote come 2016. We already rode that train.

Freedom, limited government... especially on the Federal level - it should almost be an incidental level of government.

America was set up so that the most important vote you cast was for the layers of government that were closest to you. The Governor of your state, you state assemblyman and Senator are much more important votes; the Mayor of your town, your city councilman, etc...

On the Federal level - your Congressman is the most important office... President really should be the least concerning office an American votes for.

Unfortunately, the leftist crazies have won the day - and transitioned us from a Federal Republic, to a democracy, to a fascist/socialist state... the FedGov is now such a mess though, and the people are so ignorant, that it is now all-but unfixable; so, from that standpoint, none of it matters anymore anyway - all is lost.

So the your only objection is their last names?? That's a pretty narrow-minded and, dare I say it, ignorant approach. We should be evaluating our leaders based on their capabilities, not their families.

I'd probably pull the lever for the Libertarians, despite their shortcomings, to get them their 5% and end the two party system so that the 2020 election isn't the same way.

Thanks for your candidness, Lizzie and yes, Clinton would be an improvement. Personally, I believe my dog Tuco (golden retriever) would also be an improvement over what we have now.

As a bachelor now, I can honestly say I have left over food in my refrigerator that would make better presidents than either the above.

Tell you what. You can have Stephen Harper. He is a "Conservative" who is pretty liberal by your standards, he is fluently bi-lingual so he can confuse people easier, the perfect middle for you guys.

We won't require anything in return, provided you also keep Justin Beiber, hopefully behind bars.

I would move....

wait...

I already did.....under Nixon.

Things haven't gotten any better actually....

I can't say I know much about Jeb Bush, other than Florida seemed to do well when he was Governor.
Having actual executive governmental experience would be a big plus.

The thing is a very minority of people choose whom the two major parties will be. Only around 15% of all registered voters vote in the primaries. That 15% is going to decide whom you and I have to choose between in November. Less than half that 15% will decide whom the Republican nominee will be while around 8% decide the Democratic nominee.

If you do not like Bush or Clinton, then register and vote in either the Republican or Democratic primary. If you don't that 15% is going to decide whom will be running in 2016. Don't vote in the primaries, you really do not have anything to complain about as to whom ends up on the ballot for 2016.

If the republicans are stupid enough to prop up another RINO I am honestly thinking about voting for Clinton. Usually I just leave that part of the ballot blank and vote for the elections and ballot issues. But if the republicans think a 3rd time is a charm in propping up a RINO then I am considering doing everything on my part to make sure they loose.

My husband and I share similar views, but we are in no way comparable. Perhaps some actual Clinton experience, namely having Bill to bounce ideas off of, may not be too bad and goes to Hillary's credit more so than he lame show as Sec of State.
As for Jeb, again, my siblings and I have much in common, but we hardly can be compared when making decisions. Here again, some experience from someone who is easily accessible may be beneficial.
A side by side comparison, Jeb gets my vote for actually having leadership experience. What does Hillary have to offer?
I do agree with many here who are wondering why we don't have other and more capable potential leaders. Time will tell, I am not worried yet and it won't change anything if I did.
Its time for everyone to look more closely at 3rd party options.

Based on actual results, Bill Clinton is a much better resource to have than anyone in the Bush family.

No, I would say that is a fantastic argument against and concern about aristocracy. It does not matter if we are talking about a 3rd Bush in office or a 2nd Clinton, there must be somoene out there that does not represent the polarization these families clearly bring to the table. Capabilities of course comes into play, not necessarily all one or the other but it would be moronic to not see the condition we are setting ourselves up for with political family dynasty after dynasty. In a way that also applies to the Kennedy's and several other families that have found a way that through family have a foot in the door to the political scene.

That's how Obama got into the White House back in 2008.

10% of Republicans stayed at home because McCain won the Republican Presidential nomination.

I see it more in line with the way that hollywood recycles old movie franchises rather than actually making new compelling films.

Name recognition and a built in audience are cheaper than promoting something unknown.

No problem for me. I am a Green. It doesn't mean I automatically vote for the Green candidate, but a third party is always one of my options. I liked Jill Stein in the last election.

I agree with your post and will continue to do my part in the primaries.

I understand where you're coming from.

I voted against McCain in those primaries - voted for him in the general election, so my conscience is clean there. ;)

One of the hardest decisions I ever made - to not vote for Bob Barr there - but I stand by my vote.

I'd vote for Bush. If Cruz, Paul, Perry, Carson, etc were the GOP nominee I'd vote for Clinton.
