US govt. is taking matters too lightly. We had our experience with SARS. Quarantine and contact tracing should be relentless.

You would think so wouldn't you. But right now many of us here aren't feeling real confident with those in charge of such things. We already have outbreaks of diseases once seen as won battles in this country over the past couple of years. Whooping cough is highly contagious and is a killer in the very young and old. But here in Ohio we are seeing a scary increase of this disease along with tuberculosis and some God awful flesh eating super bug. But then again we let a whole lot of folks into our country undocumented who do not go through a physical exam as those who enter legally. I just read a report about those scanning passengers boarding flights into our country and others from these areas where this disease is spreading were absolute buffoons, incompetent of their duties. That might be a good place to start attacking the threat before it goes global.

I am even more amused by people who think he is.... then again, when you sit out on the far right wing, the fuselage looks a lone way to the left.

Your problem is that you have no coherent bearing that allows you to distinguish between the right and the far right. The fact that you cannot work out that Obama is a died in the wool socialist suggests that you think are not even all that knowledgeable about the left.

For one, since you seem to be obsessed with Obamacare to the point it is your name, a real socialist would not have taken a capitalistic approach to healthcare (leaving the private sector, not only in place, but making them the centerpiece of the solution).

A real socialist certainly will take a capitalistic approach to advance socialism incrementally. If you knew anything about Obama's background, you would know of the one speech he gave as a Senator expressing his desire for single payer healthcare where he made the point: "I don't think we can get there in one step". The so-called Affordable Healthcare Act was originally written with that in mind. It had a clause that would have taken us into "single payer" if Obamacare failed. Fortunately that clause was stricken before passage.

BTW... One loses all credibility as to political objectivity when they are so obsessed by the President's middle name.

I hate to be the one to break it to you however you are not an objective judge of anyone's credibility. Have a nice day.

I agree. And if there is an Ebola outbreak, it will most likely be a result of our nearly open southern border. While Grandma and three year olds are getting frisked at airports and we are being so careful with incoming flights, Ebola if it does get out hand on this side of the world....it will likely break out in Mexico first and then just walk over the border. It's first victims in that outbreak will think they just have the cold or flu and will take over the counter remedies until a panic ensues.

Because Africans are pouring across our southern border?

No...however some small number will probably make it into Mexico....and if there is an outbreak there, it could make it across our southern border in the usual sneak in fashion. Do you think Mexico is well set up to control a possible outbreak? Or do you think Hispanics are immune to Ebola. I'm sure you can work that out. Security at the airports against terrorism or Ebola is meaningless if we leave the border wide open.

If it comes to that, then the virus will indeed pour across the border. Since no one in Washington is willing to face up to the employers of illegals and insist that immigration be controlled, the illegals will continue to come regardless.

However, you're projecting a lot from one case of ebola in the USA.

Yes we do.

Especially when the president is not only making no effort to secure the border..he is actively attempting to bring more illegals in.

Not really. You are missing my point. I am not afraid of the one case or the two cases that may come through the airports. I expect that they will be handled. I am more concerned with a hypothetical outbreak in the third world nation just across our southern border. If such happens and they do not control it......their outbreak could walk across the southern border and cause an outbreak that is not quite as easy to control as one that comes through airports. It is just insane to take our lack of southern border security so lightly.....no matter where you stand on the illegal immigration issue.

That outbreak is at least as hypothetical as your president "actively attempting to bring more illegals in".

The biggest increase in illegals was right after the amnesty bill passed back in the 1980s. Was that the president "actively bringing illegals in?"

He's attempting to establish communication with you at an appropriate level.

Well...when he establishes that Obama is in fact a socialist, I will communicate with him.

Perhaps you might consider changing your handle to Rip Van Winkle. Not counting the thousands he has already shipped around the states, he is setting up to give 25 million illegals amnesty. He is just holding off until after the midterms.

You do understand that not even the highest estimates of the numbers of illegals approaches 25 million, don't you?

And that the more like 25 thousand that would be affected by the dream act are people who have lived all of their adult lives in the USA, have been educated in our schools, and speak English..

Don't you?

Oh, and that general amnesty will never fly, not among the Democrats or the Republicans, and that due to the knowledge of what happened the last time amnesty was passed.

The estimates are all over the place. They certainly are in in the millions.

And they are here illegally. Why should they be rewarded for breaking the law?

Oh, and that general amnesty will never fly, not among the Democrats or the Republicans, and that due to the knowledge of what happened the last time amnesty was passed.

You are forgetting that the socialist in the oval office has decided that he does not need congress. He intends to do it by executive order.

LOL! Yes, I'm aware that he has said that. Now, if the worst fears are realized, and he does sign an executive order to give amnesty to the illegals, just what force of law do you think it would have? What, in fact, would change, given that no one has enforced immigration laws for decades?

Oh, and those "lawbreakers" who were brought here in the arms of their parents as small children, what law did they themselves break?

That president at least did not threaten to do it on his own. And the democrats reneged on the promises they made in order to get it passed. That's why the majority of Americans are not willing to go along with a comprehensive immigration deal now. I am sure you have heard the saying: "Fool me once.....shame on you!...Fool me twice...shame on me!"

It's about time we start enforcing them, don't you think? And btw, the message Obama is sending is inspiring more and more illegals to cross the border. When the presidejt is virtually promising not to deport them.

Ok.. So this Ebola virus seems to have everyone all in a upheaval. The media is covering non-stop, people are scared ****less, some are blaming that damn guy named Obama! Are you personally scared about the Ebola virus being in the US?
At this point I have a much higher probability of dying from lightning

So meh

I'm concerned that the lack of immigration enforcement is allowing a number of virulent diseases to enter the country and of which can become a pandemic including ebola. can the medical system handle the odd case that bobs up ? sure but that lasts until we stop happening to find out about them quickly. hoe many kids are now paralized because of this ? we have a public health menace because of BOs illegal actions regarding the border.
