Re: Are You Personally Scared About the Ebola Virus?

No, I'm not personally scared of Ebola. However,

First and foremost, I want the American people to know that our experts, here at the CDC and across our government, agree that the chances of an Ebola outbreak here in the United States are extremely low. We’ve been taking the necessary precautions, including working with countries in West Africa to increase screening at airports so that someone with the virus doesn’t get on a plane for the United States. In the unlikely event that someone with Ebola does reach our shores, we’ve taken new measures so that we’re prepared here at home. We’re working to help flight crews identify people who are sick, and more labs across our country now have the capacity to quickly test for the virus. We’re working with hospitals to make sure that they are prepared, and to ensure that our doctors, our nurses and our medical staff are trained, are ready, and are able to deal with a possible case safely.

This level of incompetency in dealing with the Ebola outbreak, and it's spread / purposeful importation to our country, has me very concerned.

Seriously. Why isn't there a 3 week quarantine of anyone who has traveled from or through the Ebola outbreak areas in Africa to the US been imposed? Isn't containment of the outbreak the first order of business with the highest of priorities?

My concern although the MSM is reporting on this 24/7, there is also a huge effort going on to downplay the threat. Right now my confidence level in my government is at an all time low. I feel we can't count on them to protect us from terrorists infiltrating this country due to feckless policies and for the same reasons have little confidence in their dealing with this disease and we will eventually be dealing with an Ebola outbreak. They have found that public taxis in the areas of the outbreak are one of several ways the disease is being spread. Now if you can contract it sitting in the same seat that another who was infected then this stuff is a lot more dangerous than what people are being led to believe.

    Greetings, Erik.

: One would think so, but I haven't heard of any quarantine areas being established. I can understand Obama adopting a soothing, "don't worry", persona because of the possibility of public panic, but what happens if cases start showing up all over the world, let alone here? Seems kinda dicey to take a "let's wait and see" attitude. We know it has been rapidly spreading from one country to another in South Africa - and people do travel every day, hence the need for quarantine areas to allow only the healthy to leave.

Looks like someone wasn't to committed does it ?

Obama is nothing more than a community organizer. Community organizers are nothing but agitators, trouble makers.

Just don't look at the world today especially in the Middle East and Africa but look at the Obama administration. Third world at best.

Has it been determined how this photographer contracted the virus yet? Or how patient zero contracted it?

Greetings Polgara! Hope you are well.

Usually it takes months for Obama's false statements to come to light, but now he's down to 2 weeks. He must not be trying very hard anymore.

I am amused by people who don't think "Hussein" is a socialist.
