    Public schools.
Natural hair color should be required for school.

you allow your children to have body piercing? good luck with him finding a job, great parenting...

response to OP: public schools? no.

Although my private school has restrictions on what hair one can have and what clothes one may have, and our scores are significantly higher than that of public school students

So, a natural brunette should be forbidden from being a blonde or a redhead? Even if the chosen color is natural-looking?

Teachers are not there to be "better teachers" based on idiotic actions of your children.

Yes. I think you are getting it. Or can you have your blond hair died pink, or purple or zebra stripe.

Schools should be allowed to dictate hair styles ONLY if the style distracts other students from learning.
The question is more important than the answer!

Not sure how a hairstyle could be a danger to other students, but you never know...
You think a hairstyle can be a "danger" to a student?

Isn't that rather subjective, though? I mean, if "distracts other students from learning", then anybody could claim simple purple hair, or short hair on girls, or long hair on boys, makes others students look, and thus "distracts" them. It's vague enough to open up all kinds of potential bans.

I don't think schools should be allowed to tell a student how to cut their hair, but I do think they should be allowed state that certain hairstyles are not appropriate and not allow them.

    No.

Well, not just no, **** no.

We got that **** abolished in 1970. What happened after that, I do not comprehend.
