I am a big fan of Steven Seagal, not always sure why but mostly I like his movies a lot.

But it seems he has been on a bit of a love fest for Russia lately. He has been photographed with Putin on several occasions and has performed in former Ukrainian area of Crimea. He has supported the Russian annexation of the Crimea and was playing in front of a crowd waving Russian flags and flags of the terrorists/separatists who shot down the plane carrying close to 200 of my country men and a lot of other people.

While I think that he is perfectly in his right to have these opinions, he is a reserve deputy sheriff and has filmed him working as a police officer. Should that police force "fire" him for fraternizing with an enemy of the US?

Do we now consider Russia an official enemy of the US? I wasn't aware of that being the case. For cripe's sake. That's a bit much imo.

As for Segal, meh- makes no difference to me either way. My impression is that his position is pretty much honorary, although I don't doubt he could do the job.

Do nothing. He has every right to do what he has been doing. Could care less if he is buddy, buddy with Putin, or holds the views he does. Do i disagree with them? Yes. But that is beyond the point.

You've made it clear enough that you have only contempt for the concept of free speech and freedom of expression, as is one of the most essential founding principles of the United States.

You're certainly entitled to your own opinions, but there is absolutely no reason at all why any American ought to give any credence whatsoever to your views as to how we, in this nation, recognize and uphold this basic human right. You have no part in this nation and its affairs.

Who cares? He has a right to his views, just like every American does. Just because you don't agree with his views doesn't give anyone the right to demand he be fired from a job when he's done nothing to warrant that.

Anyone who says otherwise is an idiot.

If Jefferson Parish doesn't have a problem, what's the problem?

If he isnt doing it in his deputy sherifs uniform then it is not anyone's business on a job level.

Sounds like a man that can think for himself, instead of waiting for the media to adjust his positions. You're from the Netherlands and why have they not released the MH17 black box data? That's a real problem. Segal is an actor and maybe a photo op deputy and the USA has not declared war on Russia, although they are conducting economic warfare against them. Blowbacks a bitch!

Pretty sure I said he has the right to say what he wants, but playing music for people who wave the flags of terrorists on a stage where the same flag flies on an island not really legally obtained by Russia, it may not be the image you want an honorary deputy sheriff to convey.

And no, I do not have any influence over the Jefferson Parish sheriffs office but I can still have an opinion about the desirability of such a person representing the law because he supports lawbreakers in the illegal annexation of the Crimea and supports the man who is most likely behind the terrorist scum who shot down a plane full of people obtaining the weapon and staff to shoot down said plane. A man who has shown no respect for the law whatsoever and to see a deputy sheriff praise such a man and his actions is not really the material for having a badge.

Steven Seagal plays music? Thats news to me. I hope it isnt as bad as his acting.

And the Dutch really arent doing a whole lot better in finding the victims killers of MH17 are they? Your PM seems to be cozying up to Putin as much as Seagal does.

The Dutch are not doing better in finding the victims killers? You mean why did the Dutch unarmed (and the Australian) police were forced to leave the area due to the Ukrainians and separatists fighting in the region? Or how the Dutch police has already identified the remains of 173 people. How the investigation is still on going but again seriously hampered by that fact that the 2 sides are having a civil war in the area.

And it is totally untrue that Rutte is cozying up to Putin.
