I see it's already too late.

if my children need to look to someone who maintains a fit lifestyle and stays in relatively good shape, then they need look no further than their father. Isn't that the way it should be? Aren't we as parents the primary role model for our children? Even if they won't admit it?

If by 'wrong message' you mean acceptance of people for who they are and not what they look like, then yes.

Our PM is fat, but I've never seen anyone make an issue of it. What matters is his policies, viewpoints and how he runs the country.

But you knew that so why ask ?
Didn't Dick Cheney have heart problems? He still got elected as VP.

You don't get elected VP in this country sir.
And Cheney continues to be the MUlti-million--dollar medical prodigee of our health system.

Not bad for five deferments during Vietnam.
He became a chicken**** chickenhawk shortly after and personally gets more credit for murdering 4,500 of our soldiers than any asshole in the Bush admin.

    Idiotic poll.
"He who does not think himself worth saving from poverty and ignorance by his own efforts, will hardly be thought worth the efforts of anybody else." -- Frederick Douglass, Self-Made Men (1872)
"Fly-over" country voted, and The Donald is now POTUS.

Yeah, he lost weight...but only after he had an operation because he was not strong enough to do it on his own.

Chris Christie - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    I lost over 40 pounds once. Hey, it wasn't easy...but I did it...and I am a nobody.

This guy wants to be POTUS and he still could not show enough discipline to just stop overeating.

Not only do I think he has lousy ideas and has people in his inner circle apparently doing mega-stupid things while he is clueless (or worse, he is just a liar about the bridge nonsense)...and he is also a weak man personally.

The guy wants to be the most powerful guy in the world and he cannot even stop himself from over-eating.

That is understandable if you are a nobody with little motivation to stay fit. But when you want to run for POTUS, it's pathetically weak, imo.

I think both Obama and GW Bush are/were lousy POTUS's...but at least they have the self-control to look after their bodies. It's the least you can do if you are POTUS.

And you Christie lovers, please save your words of support for this guy.

    The guy is weak...period.

That's fine if you are 'normal'...but not if you want to be President of the United States....not in my book.

I probably wouldn't vote for an obese person anymore than a person who smokes two packs a day.

It does tell me something about them. A lack of self control and short term gratification at the expense of long term good.
