Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon for president in 2016?

Would the Missouri governor make a good president in 2016? Before the Ferguson 2014 unrest over the shooting of an 18-year old black teenager, Nixon was lauded as a potential candidate for president in 2016, or a vice president in the 2016 presidential ticket. Can he win the presidency with this situation still, or will this story fade if he runs?
