Is Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon's political career finished?

Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon was on top of the Democratic political world. He's a moderate Democrat who could appeal to Republicans, rural voters, and Independents. He is rumored to be considering a run for president or being picked as vice president on a Democratic ticket in 2016, or to run for Senate against Sen. Roy Blunt in 2016. The August 2014 Ferguson, Missouri unrest due to the shooting of an 18-year old black teenager has been a problem in the state, and some have criticized Nixon for having a "slow response" to the issue. He has also faced some problems with the black community before this crisis. Is his political career over, or is it too early to say that?

No, it isn't over. This will be widely forgotten I would think.

I disagree, I think he is finished- well finished from higher offices.

Needless to say, blacks are a big part of the democtatic constituency and after Z-man, "Boom box" Dunn and the "knock, knock- bang bang" shooter all killing unarmed black teenagers, Fergurson / Brown is a very important issue in their community. It is not going away.

Even a suspision, whether fair or unfair, of authorizing too much force against the protestors, or not aggresively pursuing charges against Officer Wilson (for example, not assigning special proscecutors etc) will be enough to get him dropped from the ticket.

    Sorry:

    "Z-man" is Zimmerman
"Boom Box Dunn" is Michael Dunn of the loud music argument fame in Jacksonville, Florida.
"Knock Knock - bang bang" is Theodore Wafer from Detroit
