I have no idea what you are on about because I am not distracted by "how" the people choose to protest but "when" they choose to protest... if people are rioting and you want to protest peacefully, and the police tell you to disperse and go home because they are trying to calm things down and you refuse to leave, expect your protest to be treated as potential rioters. If you don't want that then disperse and demonstrate peacefully in a new area with the police notified so that they can differentiate between you and the criminals. You are loosing sight of the real problem and that is the ability of the people to voice their protest in a peaceful demonstration. Instead you are conflating two separate issues...

No matter the validity of their outrage, the way they express it does matter. If they are only reacting out of rage, and not doing anything to reasonably resolve their grievances, then they will just live in a stage of perpetual rage.

As individuals, yes. But collectively it's my guess that noone would be judging the quality or orderliness of how they chose to express their outrage unless they doubted the validity of what their outrage was about in the first place.

It's not that we don't want to get it right, it's that we don't know how to frame the problem correctly, due to certain unsavory aspects about our society that could lead to a solution.

This is also endemic of a wider problem with the displeasure of the current governing system, similar to the civil protests and counter-culture of the 1960's. These situations could continue to spread and become more common (hope not), as the class/race/cultural distinctions become more disparaging.

It is known as, "Mob Mentality". They are entities that do not think, but react... and they are very dangerous to be a part of.

And cops need to clear the streets of looters and that means that everybody needs to get off the streets and THAT means if you are protesting peacefully, understand what the cops are doing, leave and re-assemble for a peaceful protest later and STOP BITCHING about the police doing their job to protect people and businesses...
