Because nothing says 'I am earnestly chagrined at what I perceive to be a gross violation of civil rights', like smashing a store-front window and running off with a television set. lulz That's solidarity and conviction, right there.

It's not that we don't want to get it right, it's that we don't know how to frame the problem correctly, due to certain unsavory aspects about our society that could lead to a solution.

This is also endemic of a wider problem with the displeasure of the current governing system, similar to the civil protests and counter-culture of the 1960's. These situations could continue to spread and become more common (hope not), as the class/race/cultural distinctions become more disparaging.

    Yeah that's BS.

My limited understanding of that drug makes me think it would have made him calm, thus less likely to get in a confrontation with police. Plus it stays in the system awhile, so saying "he had marijuana in his system" might mean he smoked it a few days or a week ago?

    Basically a meaningless datum.
