Precincts that have adopted use of cameras have seen a significant reduction in police abuses. It certainly seems like a good idea.

Yes - I also propose all politicians wear them as well.

Re: Should All Police Have to Wear Body Cameras?

It would be helpful in having actual video of an arrest perhaps. But even though I don't do anything illegal I sure wouldn't want to have to wear a camera all day at work.

Who here wouldn't mind having their whole day video taped? You can't even fart in private.

I guess I vote Yes, but there is just something about it that bothers me a little.

Absolutely. And before they are allowed duty they need to sign an agreement stating that if the camera "malfunctions", becomes hindered in any way, or "happens" to not catch the incident they are being accused, for any reason, they are instantly guilty.

And on top of that ALL people working as a representative of the government should have to conform to 100% monitorization during their terms so the public can sift through their actions to look for suspicious action. (bribes, conspiracy, whatever)

That would pretty much weed out all the bad politicians and usher in a new era of accountability.

Plus it would be sexy to watch the female representatives take a shower.

It would raise a ****storm at first but eventually viable people will sift into the positions. People that will willingly sacrifice their privacy to help their country. If you dont like it. Dont take the job.

    Hey DemSocialist :2wave

I absolutely do. Video cameras create accountability where there otherwise is none. Courts are trained to hold the word of a cop above the word of anyone else. Having the ability to access complete video of all encounters a cop has in a day would be a huge win for justice.

Until that day comes, however, we still can and should hold our officers accountable by filming our interactions with them. It is your right to film them, don't let them tell you otherwise. If something goes terribly wrong, there is video evidence of what happened. It will keep both you and your community safer and most people already have the technology to do it with their smartphones anyway.
