Should All Police Have to Wear Body Cameras?
should all police have to wear body cameras?
Should All Police Have to Wear Body Cameras?
Is this different than Maggie's poll?
Should All Police Have to Wear Body Cameras?
Only if all suspects must wear them as well. Why should the word of the arrested count without video back-up but not the word of the arresting officer?
If there is another poll already I apologize.. Too much wine :3oops:
Definitely. I heard they actually tend to exonerate the officer most of the time.
An additional option I don't see in these conversations is that idea of real time remote monitoring of the officer for support and oversight.
Imagine a command center with officers watching the officers, and stepping in with advice, information, or backup when appropriate. It wouldn't necessarily be very expensive, as at any given moment few would need more than passive monitoring.
Should All Police Have to Wear Body Cameras?
we petition the obama administration to:
Mike Brown Law. Requires all state, county, and local police to wear a camera.
Create a bill, sign into law, and set aside funds to require all state, county, and local police, to wear a camera. Due to the latest accounts of deadly encounters with police, We the People, petition for the Mike Brown Law. Create a bill, sign into law, and set aside funds to require all state, county, and local police, to wear a camera. The law shall be made in an effort to not only detour police misconduct(i.e. brutality, profiling, abuse of power), but to ensure that all police are following procedure, and to remove all question, from normally questionable police encounters. As well, as help to hold all parties within a police investigation, accountable for their actions.

.....A camera is not bias. Unedited, raw video cannot lie. If a suspect fights or is compliant will be on the video. This will leave very little for the arguments of if it was necessary force or not.
Many departments would love to use these cameras but budget issues prevent them from buying. By signing this executive order the president is mandating departments buy them now.
The order does have language in it to open up grant monies for police chief’s to access to make some initial purchases of body cameras. Once the initial grant dollars are gone the White House expects police chiefs to get creative with their budgets to make sure all officers have individual cameras by next year.....
