MOST cops are good people, not "many". Most.
Hmmm, you sure you're libertarian, I don't recall the last time I saw a libertarian say something decent about most cops. It's one thing (along with others) that keep me from identifying as libertarian (though there are aspects of it that definitely resonate with me). I don't hate cops or celebrate when they get hurt or killed. I've seen a few libertarians actually do that.

Should the entire population fear them? "Fear" might be a bit hyperbolic, but the fact remains that there are indeed bad no-good cops out there, and people should always be wary simply because at any given interaction you flat-out don't know whether you'll get a good one or a bad one. The stakes are too high to be too trusting.
Yeah, they put on a badge and they cease being human and it's never the other persons attitude that comes into play, is it? It's the cops fault all the time. Bull****. I deal with cops all the time and I have no fear of them, but then I'm not looking to bash them. Do let me know if you ever hear of a cop doing something that meets with your approval.

I love this! Both sides of the aisle uniting in a common cause. Who divided by zero?

I've seen a lot of Libertarians criticize cops vehemently, which surprises me. Cops prevent anarchy. I've also struggled with the Libertarians who jump on the "cops are BAD" bandwagon. It annoys me. It annoys me when they are criticizing the cops in Ferguson. I guess they must love the rioters, who aren't rioting against "big government" but are rioting against....who the hell knows.

Such fail. I don't know where to start. Anyway, I'll give it a shot, though I don't expect much from such close-mindedness. Two points...

    1) It's clear that, while you performed the act of reading my post, you didn't actually absorb anything that was said other than the part you wanted to be offended by, and you ran with that. Hence, your point, as utterly off-base as it is, is dismissed.

    2) I have plenty of positive comments and opinions regarding police and police actions, you've just never bothered to pay attention. They are public record here at DP, and you can find them easily enough if you search, but I doubt you have any interest in truth and accuracy, only desired and pre-conceived bias.

Suggestion: Slow down. Take a deep breath. Read *and absorb* what the other person is actually saying. Then respond.
If you claim sexual harassment to be wrong, yet you defend anyone on your side for any reason,
then you are a hypocrite and everything you say on the matter is just babble.

Those are the assholes that drive away people from becoming libertarian.

I never said any such thing. What I said was:

I know many cops and they are good people

That appears to be where you are confused.

I have repeatedly said MOST cops are good people.

Totally right, CP and totally not fair for me to hold those few against the majority of libertarians, so sincere apologies for that. I was in sarcasm hyperdrive this morning. We all have our assholes.

No apologies needed but if you want to apologize you may bow down at my feet.

There are assholes that drive people away from any group. I know well that the LGBT community has them.
