Do you think Obama is doing a good job as president?

Mitt romney would have made a fine potus and we needed him.

He has been successful at every position he held which is far far more than obama.

He was a uniter, not a divider. With a majority democrat house and senate in mass, he still managed to increase jobs, balance his budget, and cut taxes.

Im still in shock this nation didnt put him in the white house. But then again im smarter than 95 pct of the public.

You are not independent if you voted for obama. Aside from fdr, he is probably the most left potus in history.
Never said I voted for Obama.

Re: Do you think Obama is doing a good job as presideent?

So, if republicans dont go along with whatever the dems want, they are obstructive? Careful, your bias is showing.

It isn't opinion or bias it's fact. The Republican Party is very irresponsible now. The Republican Party of the 90s would be seen as to liberal by today's GOP. They're insane.

Re: Do you think Obama is doing a good job as presideent?

Unfortunately, I have to say no. Due mostly to his mistakes in foreign policy, for me personally.

The irresponsible one is Dingy Harry Reid, The HOR passes bills and sends them to the Senate and Reid won't bring the bills to the floor for a vote.

And pray tell, what actual leftist positions he has adopted?

Obama is Bush III and Bush II was a right leaning centrists for the most part. How can a clone of a right leaning centrist be the most leftist POTUS in history?

Did Obama practice price ceilings? Did he nationalize assets? Did he enforce airline price limits?

DADT, Obamacare, women on subs, Hatred of the military, spending, just to name a few.

And Independent usually can vote for either party nominee.

Please be honest with your choice.

Ummmm. I think that he has done the best that he could under the circumstances. An obstructonist congress for one. He has bent over backwards to keep boots off the ground in the ME, although I felt he could have done something in Syria at the beginning and maybe we wouldn't have ISIS now.. He tends to "ponder" too long on issues dealing with the ME. Sometimes swift action is needed. Overall, out of 100, I give him a reserved 70.

I don't know how many times I have to post this......The obstructionist is Harry Reid in the senate........There are over 80 bills the HOR have passed and Reid won't bring them to the floor for and up and down vote.....

Please be honest with your choice.

He hasn't done a good job or a bad job, which is why I didn't vote in the poll. And no, I'm not an Obama fanboy.

Considering the GOP's alternatives in 2008 and 2012, however, I have no remorse about voting for Obama twice.

It doesn't matter how many times that you post this, Boehner has done far, far worse. I take it that you give Obama credit for keeping U.S. boots off the ground in the M.E..

Actually he blames Obama for not keeping the boots on the ground as per GOP "warhawk" leaders Senators McCain and Graham.
As well as not being an isolationist as with Sen. Paul .

Well what has he done good?

No I don't we should have left a residual force in Iraq and not completely cut and run........Have you noticed we have a thousand troops there now? The situation was stable when he turned tail and run.............

Eight bills plus on Reids desk.........What has Boehner done so wrong?

DADT, Obamacare, women on subs, Hatred of the military, spending, just to name a few.

How is ending discrimination leftist? Are you saying that discrimination is a right leaning trait? President Lincoln would disagree with you. Furthermore, how is ending a practice that has made America less safe leftist? Or are you saying putting America at extra risk is a right leaning trait?

Obamacare functions to move more people's healthcare costs on their own burden rather than the status quo system which promotes freeloading. How is pushing people towards self responsibility for their own insurance costs leftist? Or are you say that freeloading and theft are right leaning traits?

Women on subs? How is that even either?

Hatred of the military? In what way? Other than you just don't like him? Remember it was the Republicans who largely came up with the notion of huge cuts to the military if Congress could not agree on the budget. Obama writes no laws and authorizes no money. I think you don't know what branch of government does what.

Spending? In what way? Per capita is actually lower than Reagan. Are you calling Reagan a leftist by transitive logic?

All your list proves is you don't know the difference between right and left.

Well what has he done good?

Several things. Some of which were mentioned in passing earlier in this thread.

1. Dodd-Frank (Wall Street Reform legislation)
2. Giving the correct amount of attention to pursuing and taking out bin Laden. (Any self-respecting Seal would have been more than willing to die for that.)
3. Ending the scam of denying health care to people with "pre-existing conditions." As messed up as much of the ACA is, that one thing still leaves the nation better off than before.
4. Ending DADT. You say it's a bad thing; most of the world seems to think it's a good thing.

That's already more achievement than most past presidents can claim. And definitely more than any Republican since Nixon.

Women in subs and DADT should not, IMO, be considered exclusively liberal policies - that they are indicates IMO a significant issue with the GOP. Note I do not consider the GOP conservative.

"Obamacare" (wtf is up with naming that **** after him, anyway) is probably what whichever corporations donated to his campaign wanted, since it potentially takes some of the costs off of them and places them on the taxpayer.

Spending? WTF man, spending has been this way for the last few presidents, it's not just Obama.

As for "hatred of the military", I think that's BS. He doesn't hate the military, he just more neutral on them than previous presidents, which makes it appear as a dislike in comparison.

"Obamacare" (wtf is up with naming that **** after him, anyway) is probably what whichever corporations donated to his campaign wanted, since it potentially takes some of the costs off of them and places them on the taxpayer.

The core logic of the ACA is actually quite Conservative in nature. The ACA seeks to move away from the system that actually promotes freeloading and theft of insurance dollars. Under the old system, no one could be denied life saving care and often regular care was provided for in the ER. That of course was paid for by a theft of everyone else's insurance money. The ACA pushes people towards at least paying for some of their own insurance and thereby reducing the draw on other people's insurance pools.

What people don't know is because of the old system, you say paid $450 for insurance, but you only really got like 70%, or $315 worth of care because the rest was being taken to pay for the uninsured. I only know this because my friend used to be an insurance regulator and found this out during his job and thus told me. Thus, people are seeing their premiums rise and are freaking out, not realizing that they're basically paying the same amount per dollar of healthcare but getting closer to 100% of that care.

The ACA has functional problems, but the internal core principal of getting people to pay for their own costs is conservative. The GOP proposals do nothing to promote people actually paying for their own costs and instead push freeloading.

Re: Do you think Obama is doing a good job as presideent?

I think George W. Bush has more approval here.

Re: Do you think Obama is doing a good job as presideent?

This isn't even a serious question.

He's horrific.

and yet, still better than McCain would have been...

go figure...

Re: Do you think Obama is doing a good job as presideent?

Barack Obama is the best president that the USA has had since 2008.

Re: Do you think Obama is doing a good job as presideent?

That's like asking a Jew in Nazi Germany, "Do you think Hitler is doing a good job as Chancellor?"

Re: Do you think Obama is doing a good job as presideent?

I had very low expectation. And he turned out just about what I expected.
