Should employing illegal immigrants result in a jail sentence?

If the illegal immigration problem is as dire as some here say it is, should employers of those illegals be jailed?

No. However, if an employer continues to hire illegals after being repeatedly fined then he should have his/her business shut down for a period of time.

I think a fine is applicable, at least the first time. If they continue to employ illegals, eventually a fine isn't going to be enough.
There is nothing demonstrably true that religion can provide the world that cannot be achieved more rationally through entirely secular means.

That sounds rather harsh. I think pillory and whipping will do. Then confiscate their possessions and let'em go.

Not jailed but certainly arrested and tried and fined and businesses closed with no ability to be licensed again for a period of time not less than 5 years.

Just increase the fine each time they're caught, at some point the company will be losing year's worth of profits for hiring illegal immigrants.

Jail time is stupid in this case, that just wastes our money. Instead, if we fine them to the point where their company is destroyed after multiple offenses the govt. not only kills an unethical business but it also saves a lot of resource spending on jails.

I think it should be like a liquor license violation. The server and the business are fined, with escalating fines until the business loses it's license.

As part of a catastrophic penalty for knowingly hiring illegal aliens? Absolutely.

Add in confiscation of personal assets, including their homes and other goods to pay the penalties, which should be quadrupled.
