It IS racist. Even by "institutionalized racism" arguments. Here you have black leaders who are in positions of authority demanding that a white person be replaced....because he's white. I'd LOVE to see the apologists try and argue past this one.

I don't have all the information but I don't think this case is racist. I don't think that the people arguing against this teacher is doing it explicitly because of his skin colour, but because has less exposure to the culture he is meant to be teaching.
Of course their argument is still as ridiculous because there's no reason this white teacher hasn't studied other cultures his whole life and is incredibly knowledgable on them, but I think you have to make the distinction on the accusers part between "doesn't like the guy because his skin colour is white" and "doesn't like the guy because his skin colour indicates that he hasn't had the same exposure to the culture that he is meant to be teaching as the other candidates do".
