persecution is the key here... if the kids are NOT being persecuted because of their race, nationality, religion, or association with social groups, or political beliefs... they aren't refugees.

in addition , refugee status is something that is conferred on a person after they have applied for it based upon those criteria...it is not a status a mayor,governor, or a journalist can magically bestow on anyone.

... yeah. It sure is obvious because nobody that has been to or experienced poverty hell holes that I have seen would dare utter the garbage that you are. It is embarrassing for you and disrespectful to the children that live in those conditions and sometimes die as a result of those conditions. Just keep chillin' in sunny Florida waiting for the next Spring Break party though and let those of us that know what is up deal with reality.
