Putin is a Master only in a few right wing fearmongering minds. His epic move with the missiles into Ukraine is a REAL master stroke... :doh

BushII was the checker player in the crowd, and a piss poor one at that.

Putin is just playing with himself....

Who appeased Putin in 2009 and agreed not to station NATO anti ballistic missiles in Eastern Europe with nothing in exchange from Russia ?

From that day on Putin had no respect for a pantywaist who didn't know how to play geopolitic chess.

Almost a year ago when Obama kept moving the "red line" in the sand during the Syrian crisis and got into a staring match with Putin and Obama blinked, Obama went in front of the world calming that geopolitics was obsolete in the 21st Century. All of the worlds leaders laughed at Obama. The world doesn't automatically change because of a date on a calendar. All of the world leaders after having a good laugh that the world changed at midnight on January 1st, 2000 went back to geopolitics.

Obama believes the world should be as he visions it to be. 99.9% of the people in the world don't vision the world as Obama does.

Yes, if you neocons continue to hold empire and armed intervention as the necessary foundation of U.S. International policy.

Or if a pacifist like you is in a state of denial like your type were in WW2.

We could have stayed out of WWI and there are quite a bit of historians who think if we had just let the Europeans slug it out amongst themselves WWII wouldn't have happened. But that is all supposition. As for WWII, Pearl Harbor was bombed and then a couple of days later Hitler declared war on us.

If old Bull Moose TR had of won in 1912, I doubt if he would have taken as long as Wilson to get us involved in WWI. But if Taft the isolationist had won in 1912, he would have kept it us out of WWI. But these are just my opinions.

Pretty good ones though.

Yeah, but did they start them.

No.

I think the Vietnam War was avoidable if JFK would have listened to Eisenhower's warnings and advice and listened to his elders instead of his Harvard buddies known as the "Young and Brightest."

Its amazing how you people are not concerned.....First of all we have a president who is totally incompetent especially when it comes to foreign policy.

Then we have the middle east exploding with Israel and the Arabs at each others throats. then we have the Russians and the Ukraine fighting with the Russians taking out passenger planes then we have Iran trying to get a nuke...I haven't even mention North Korea....

Then we have a POTUS who is epitome of the Manchurian Candidate and is clueless.......Other then that everything is just fine. .I don't know what it takes to get you pacifists attention..

Rome burned and Nero played the fiddle or in the case the world burns and Obama plays the fiddle.

World War Three began a long time ago, in the 1970s. It started when President Carter betrayed and abandoned the best ally we ever had in the Muslim-dominated world—the Shah of Iran—allowing the Khomeniacs to overthrow him and take over that nation. This is when the dangerous, toxic Islamist terrorists first gained control of the resources of an entire nation; from which to spread their poison across the rest of the Muslim world.

All of the trouble that we have had ever since with Islamist terrorist all goes back to that one tragic act of incompetence on Carter's part.

And support for militant Islamists ever sense.

You only know that because Shrub showed..........:lamo

No, in grade school, I had sadistic nuns who beat us when we spelled a word wrong. A misspelled word brings back PTSD.

If you read my follow up post and if you're old enough to remember, during the 60's, 70's and 80's during Presidential elections it was always mentioned that Democrats had gotten America into two world wars and Korea and the Vietnam War would be added to the list during the 1968 Presidential elections.

BTW: Do you remember what the 1960 Presidential campaign was mostly about ? Who would be more aggressive stopping Communist expansion in the world, Nixon (Republican) or Kennedy( Democrat)
Americans were pretty split who would be better at the job and not turning the Cold War into a hot war. The voters went to the polls and along with the corpses from the Cook County cemeteries, JFK was elected. The rest is history.

Since most Americans think that we should have been involved in WW11, I fail to see how that was ever a fair criticism of democrats, just a cheap election time talking point. Had FDR done the right thing and stayed out, he would have been criticised as an isolationist by the right.

Jesus, NP.

So I'm confused, democrats were wrong to get us involved in WW11, or not?

I think Obama has a serious golf addiction. A lefty like Obama moving to a heavily conservative Rancho Mirage. :thinking

And Obama's Congressional Representative will be a Republican. :lamo

But Obama will have close to fifty different golf courses to play on.

I'm just going to guess that might have had a lot to do with the selection of that area for a retirement home.

I don't ever remember Democrats being criticized for being in the White House during WW l, WW ll or the Korean War. It was just brought up during election time as an argument if the Cold War went hot, it will likely be when a Democrat is in the White House. It was more heard on the streets not being said so much by politicians.

What do you think would have happened if Germany, Italy and Japan would never had signed the Tripartite Pact and Japan still attacked the Pacific Fleet and Hitler never declared war on America ?

Yeah, I know it's another "what if" questions.

Well Las Vegas has a whole lot of golf courses and it's less than an hour drive to Searchlight, Nevada, Harry Reids stomping grounds.

WWIII will be the shortest War in history. :(

I'll know what happened if I see a flash outside the window, proceeded by a *crack* of thunder that pulverizes the buildings.

You don't get it, you're trying to read between the lines but there are no words there to read.

Should have FDR done a Bush (43) with a regime change in Germany during the early or mid 1930's ?
No way would it have happened since the vast majority of Americans before Dec. 7th 1941 were isolationist and the labor unions and even CPUSA supported Hitler until Comrade Hitler attacked Comrade Stalin in 1941.

In the late 1930's the British had Neville Chamberlain who appeased Hitler, "Peace in our time."

Today America has Barack Obama who appeases dangerous people in the world and has thrown American allies under the bus.

Today it's taught that WW ll began in Europe when Hitler and Stalin invaded Poland. (Revisionist don't like to mention the Soviets invasion from the East)
In reality it began in Asia when Japan invaded Manchuria and China.
