Your topic is okay, OP, but the way you constructed your poll sucks big time. Every question is slanted. Unless you are a pollster, don't quit your day job. If you ARE a pollster, quit...now.

The only choice that even comes close to my position is the 5th one...and only part of it. "I only research issues I care about..." applies. "...use sources I agree with to make myself feel better" doesn't apply...and is a demeaning addition to the choice.

Heck, if you had just left that stupid poll off your thread, I might be interested in sharing my methods of receiving news.

If you think 'it is telling' I'd opine you are easily swayed.... it is yet another BS poll with rather limited boxes to check, but if it gives you a warm fuzzy to wonder why... then by all means continue on...

Why specifically don't you like the poll itself? What are the slanted questions? I think it's pretty neutral. If you research topics you care about using a method similar to mine you could have easily checked that and contributed something constructive to the discussion instead of criticizing the entire thing!

Not really sure what I am easily swayed by...Care to elaborate?

Also there is nothing in the poll that restricts anything. If you have something to add or a new method, I believe I welcomed further discussion! That's the entire point. You don't even need to participate in the poll. You can kindly reply that none of those options apply to you and then explain how exactly you read the news. I just wonder why you didn't do that and chose to be rude instead.

You are easily swayed into a self deluding 'logic' loop that a lack of response means what you wish, not willing to consider you are less than savvy at polling.

The poll responses you list are another indicator you have a very restricted view of the issue. That you see a general discussion topic as being capable of being distilled into a few pre-programmed boxes shows a blinder mentality.

I lean like Mycroft in this (and SELDOM agree with him politically) research only what interests me, look at the various talking points to see the 'other guy's' POV. Then if it comes up I can respond.

Get out of the poll business and just put the question to the group, but don't draw too much from a lack of response- as topics go in here this is a big yawn...

The biggest problem I have is the two-parters. Why did you have to combine "I research everything thoroughly..." with "...and question everything, etc."? What if I research everything, but DON'T question everything, etc.? Or, what if I only research issues I care about, but I use sources that I both agree with and don't agree with? I cannot select that choice.

The second biggest problem is the little snide addition to the choices, such as, "...to make myself feel better". That kind of crap doesn't belong in a serious poll.

And then, there's your last choice about your timeline method. Who cares?

Now...since the basis of your thread is the poll...that is, that's the first thing I look at...my displeasure with your poll questions just turned me off of the whole thread.

I like CNN and NPR. I use the CNN app a lot. I like MSNBC to some degree, but understand it is mostly liberal/democratic editorializing except on election nights.
