I would say certain things up there are trashy behavior, but I wouldn't call a person trash since everyone has the ability to change.

Do you really believe that? Perception of what's normal isn't the same for everybody.

Self induced poverty, above all else. Anti intellectualism, misplaced life priorities, and being oversexed at a young age are more contributing factors to self induced poverty than markers of whether someone is trash. I voted for all four of those.

I don't consider any human being trash but the people for which I have the most contempt are criminals, especially violent criminals. In this case I define criminal broadly to include those who are never prosecuted, never convicted and do wrong against other people that might be technically legal but still wrong.

Really? You think the board should only be for people with enough discretionary income to be able to pay to post here? I wouldn't've thought you'd be the one to post that. Learn something new about folks everyday.

Did you miss the:lamo emoticon?

I thought I was clearly kidding.:doh

But, ads do NOT have to be intrusive and annoying ..IMO ..some are even useful and informative ...
Donating ? How much ? How often ? A man of wealth I am not..About $30K per annum ..

I obviously failed on delivery. My post was meant tongue in cheek. My apologies to anyone I offended.

Able body people who game the system, people who have kids but refuse to care for them.

By trash I'm applying the concept of: being a detestable person who brings nothing but - but only bad - to their society. Like 'lower than dirt'.

A
of people?
No - never.
My definition above would be achieved only by actions of said individual over a period of time. Maybe some actions are so bad that a one time show is enough.

Any person can make themselves into trash, but they can't turn a whole group of people into trash.

What qualifies a person (any race) as "Trash"? Ex: "Oh yeah, they're trash."

Often I've found this question intriguing because while almost everybody can agree that a certain segment of any society could potentially fall under the label of "trash", almost no group I've encountered can ever truly agree on what qualifies a person as actual "trash". The very subject usually is enough to get a group of friends not speaking to one another rather quickly thanks to views being so polarized.

I'm going to give some of the more socially popular options but by all means add your own ideas as to what makes a person trash in society or by all means vehemently disagree with the options I add or even the premise that "trash" exist at all.

Uh, none of the above, really.

What makes someone trash to me is just being a terrible person. Being violent, cruel, dishonest, selfish, hateful, etc. Lumbering through life hurting people as they go.

There are plenty of people who are none of the things you list -- indeed, who are very clean-cut and socially "acceptable" -- who I think would qualify as trash.

1. No one is ever "trash", though many of us are trashed on by and trash others in return, and more than a few of us act trashy on a regular basis. Each individual is a unique and powerful creation, and as a flawed human being you owe them better than to treat them like trash, given how you yourself have acted trashy towards others in the past and hope not to be treated as trash by others.

2. Except hippies. Hippies aren't people, and therefore lack thinks like individual rights, or value. You could therefore call them trash if you were (for example) throwing them out along with all the other refuse of a protest, or sweeping out a bongo-drug-and-weed-store, or taking them into a hemp manufacturer to be recycled. When putting a big bag of hippies in a blue bin for the garbage truck to come pick up, feel free to call it what you like. Just don't try to pull stunts like that with people.

Sarcasm doesn't go over, here. It's like a foreign language to the majority.

I guess so, some people have so over used emoticons that I have some turned off, and even for those not turned off, there usage isn't always clear. For example, one poster always attaches a peace sign, but his posts have very little peaceable material.

Thank you for the clarification. Real life, sarcasm is tonal and easier to distinguish. Laughing can be related to many perspectives, not just sarcasm.

I agree wholeheartedly. You couldn't hear my little giggle when I typed it.;)

'Believing' what they well know to be lies, for personal advantage, like American politicians voting money to the Zionist childkillers. And, I suppose, those who control sites and support such people by banning those who tell the truth!

The number one qualification: People who go on welfare and download as many children as they possibly can.

And of course, the result is millions of future generations on welfare in a very short time.

And finally, the people who vote for their livings will outnumber and out-vote the responsible working, taxed to death people and bankrupt the country.
