Re: Is this Racist?

The goal posts continue to be moved. When there is no cause to fight for anymore, the race baiters move the goalposts to include more things to fight against. It is now racist to even make any type of disparaging remarks about a person who happens to be black. However, this standard does not apply evenly across the board. You can criticized and publically mock Bush and not be called a racist. Hell, if that were the case they would have to get rid of some of the funniest Saturday night live skits.

The equal rights movement is tied closely to the feminist movement. Both continue to move the goalposts, and both have outgrown their use. Leaders in both camps are struggling to stay employed so they must create new injustices to keep that money rolling in.

Who here is calling this "racist"?

(I use racist in quotes because nobody seems to know what it means anymore)

Re: Is this Racist?

So how does one show their disapproval of the man while respecting the office?

There's plenty of ways. You can protest his policies, you can protest his actions without having to resort to such juvenille actions like the float. That float during a 4th of July parade is just disrespctful IMO.

You can thank liberals for the fact that nobody knows what it means anymore.

Right on cue, "it's all liberals fault." I'm sure we can also thank "liberals" for kidnapping the Lindbergh baby and for you not winning at Scrabble last week.

Who gives a damn if it was disrespectful? Obama and just about every other politician in Washington do things daily which make the majority of people in this country's lives worse so the very last thing I'm going to lose any sleep over is whether or not one of these scumbag politicians has been disrespected. As far as I'm concerned every politician in Washington DC could drop dead tomorrow and the world would be a far better place for it.

Re: Is this Racist?

When you consider that the man has an undergraduate degree from Columbia, a law degree from Harvard, served as a Senator in the Congress of the United States, and is now president, I don't know, maybe ... but these people have the right to do it and to give the state a black eye - who really gives a $%^# about Nebraska anyway?

Re: Is this Racist?

No on the racism. I can remember a political cartoon of Jimmy Carter and an outhouse making fun of him being a country bumpkin and a peanut farmer. The outhouse has been a symbol used by many who do not like what ever current president is in the oval office. I am sure if one had the time to research, one would find that almost every president has at one time or another been associated with an outhouse.

But even political humor, satire, etc like this does not belong in a 4th of July Parade, that is for sure. It belongs on an editorial page or a column written about the president.

You asked how you can respect the office while protesting the man. I gave you the answer, if you choose to ignore it that's up to you.

I was brought up to respect the office. The actions of the people that did the float during the 4th of July parade are that of children.

Funny thing was, President David Robert Outhouse (D-Ore.) was never portrayed that way, simply because it was disregarded as a weak pun on his name.

Let's not go there, they don't represent all Nebraskans.

Re: Is this Racist?

Of course its racist. Any thing short of praise for our king is racist and should be prosecuted to the fullest. (yes, sarcasm)

Strawman, we are not talking kidnapping. Just political satire.

but really, who really gives a %$#@ about Nebraska (other than the movie, which was very good)?

Re: Is this Racist?

No, it's not racist. That term has been worn out from over use. (I think they use the term 'bigot' now. But, it's not that either.)
It's funny watching the left's new found respect for the Office of the President now that their boy occupies it.

I don't think it is very funny, but racist? I don't think so.

Re: Is this Racist?

Who gives a flying phuck about podunk Redneck Nebraska anyways, they must be real simple minded to get their jollies of this weak ****...

This type of racism just motivates more and more folks of color to flock to the polls and pull that D lever, so i don't mind it at all....

These clowns must have short memories, the 12 elections were not that long ago, don't ever plan on seeing another Republicon in the WH, again as long as you keep seeing this BS..

Did you not see the video. The lady specifically expressed her disgust that anyone would disparage a "black" president. Go back and watch it. What do you translate that to mean?

A few things............

Redneck Nebraska? Michigan is much better huh? Detroit, run by liberals for the last 40 years, is now the land of milk and honey right? oh yeah that's right, it's the biggest sh1thole in the country and they're begging for a bailout form the rest of the nation so maybe you'd better take a look in the mirror.

Judging by the poll results most people who've responded to this thread disagree with you that the float was racist. So can you please explain to us exactly why it is racist?

Each major parties' supporters claim the other party is destined for the political wilderness but recent history shows the pendulum swings back and forth fairly quickly. the NWO doesn't care who's in office as long as the beast is being fed.

Re: Is this Racist?

I don't find it racist, just extremely disrespectful especially for a fourth of July parade.

I think the point was that Obama doesn't respect our freedoms.

i didn't find it racist. Only those who aren't colorblind can see it that way. I got a laugh out of this:

As a black woman living in Norfolk, Kathurima said she found the float to be an offensive depiction of the president.

Note, she just had to interject color.

It seems to have struck a nerve with you.

Re: Is this Racist?

Isn't any critique of the current POTUS racism?

Absulutely.

Just ask any liberal/progressive.

I am a racist because I don't like Obama's politics.

I will be a sexist when I start opposing Hillary's politics.
