Coffee. I drink about 5 to 6 cups most mornings.

Habitual use of something is not the same thing as a destructive addiction. Someone who reads, watches TV/movies or does social acceptable behavior, even to excess is not necessarily an addict. Someone who eats, does substances or even exercises to the point of having a severe physical, emotional impact have negative addictions. And even those are usually temporal in nature.

Dr Pepper. ...

I swear they lace it with pure black tar heroin.

Possibly PC games in general, not specifically online games.

Not sure really, perhaps I just play alot without being addicted.

I have literally hundreds of games, but have only completed a few of them.

I am 61 and I have never tasted coffee. I can't stand the smell of it and have never been game enough to get a cup close enough to my mouth the taste it! I do, however, drink tea.

I love the smell of fresh coffee. I always drink it black. Sometimes I will have a glass of hot tea in the afternoon. I stop drinking coffee by lunchtime.

I am addicted to:

Having fun with my children...
...and reading while taking dumps...

I'm probably on the spectrum, coffee and good beer. And these forums I guess. But not really any negative consequences other than the cost of money and time, and presumably I'd be a bit healthier without some of it. I think I'm self-conscious enough to notice if it's impacting things significantly, and if I wasn't my wife wouldn't hesitate to let me know about it.

I'm addicted to sports. I don't know, maybe I love the spirit of competition. While channel surfing, I'll stop and watch a 'riveting' darts competition on ESPN 35 :2razz:. Despite the beer guts and sheer boredom, I'll watch until the winner is decided.

Are you addicted to anything?
I used to be addicted to RPG games. I would fail to eat or sleep and only did the required homemaker tasks. I even tried to pretend it was because it was "something the kids and I could do together". Best decision I ever made was to throw out the Nintendo and break and uninstall the PC RPGs. I'm glad I figured this out way back when Nintendo was young and King's Quests was only up to 3. I would be doomed if I ever started an online RPG, thank goodness they weren't available back then.

Yup, I am an addict, but have been drug free for 29 years now. :)

Are you addicted to anything?

I'm addicted to women, the sea, Coors Beer, good scotch, beef and rock n roll.

But I'm sure not stupid enough to get addicted to Wikipedia.

Tobacco and doing things the easiest way possible these days. Also feel a strong pull to hot and cold running water, a soft bed and good pot.

This post was a roller coaster of emotions. Thank you.

I am a recovering marijuana and anti-inflammatory and pain killer user. Though I have been sober for a few years now, I will never stop being an addict. These days, I avoid any type of situation where I may feel like I may be around both excessive levels of alcohol AND drugs. As far as pain killers go, I have relied on counseling of various types to stay away from them. I do a lot of meditating and get tangerine flavored Altoids mailed to whatever country I may be in.

Define "good scotch." I'm curious considering it came right after "Coors Beer."

When on a budget during Obama's economy, Chivas Regal.

If the Republicans don't take back the Senate, it's likely I will have to dumb down to Cutty Sark.

Nothing against those scotches, but that's why I asked. My thing is for Islay single malts (Lagavulin, Ardbeg, Laphroaig) and don't really spend the cash on anything else, liquor-wise. They tend to be pricey, so only for special occasions anymore.

Story I like to tell: We polished off a bottle of the 16-yr Lagavulin at my wedding and my 19-year old (at the time) sister came to the dance floor with a red plastic cup of something-and-coke and instantly I knew something was up... her whatever-and-coke smelled like a newly treated leather saddle. I knew right away she had mixed my 16-yr Islay single malt with Coca-Cola. To this day I give her hell for it. Though I guess if there was ever a time to mix the world's best scotch with a soft drink, it'd have been that night.
