So far, you are the only person saying that.

I guess you loves you some strawman!
Many Trump supporters have lots of problems, and those deplorables are bringing those problems to us. They’re racists. They’re misogynists. They’re islamophobic. They're xenophobes and homophobes. And some, I assume, are good people.

If butt hurt effeminate men and little girls are whining about the Washington redskin name then what is to stop these same people from pressuring Oklahoma to change it's name?
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

I think a lot of people are so used to the Redskin name they don't even think of it as a slur because they see it simply as a descriptor of Native Americans or of its heritage and never thought of it as an insult.
ONCE AGAIN (and this is getting more and more common), my answer isn't included as an option. My answer:

That is for Native Americans to determine.

My explanation of that is that I don't think it's up to one group to decide for another group what they would consider derogatory. That is elementary. I personally don't consider the term derogatory, but if Native Americans find it so, then so be it. It's really their decision. They've lived a life of being Native American, they have the history and the feelings of Native American ancestors.

My belief is that if some group finds some name or flag or whatever really offensive, especially when backed by a court of law, or because of the past history in our country involving the word or emblem, then the name or flag or emblem should be dropped, out of respect for that group.

You know what they say: Do unto others....etc.

What if there were a team called "Hillbillies" or "Tennessee white pointy caps" or "Georgia Bubbas"? You think there might be a complaint or two?

Ah. Your strawmen are now attacking the Washington Redskins. They move fast.

    You are not making sense.

Still not really too relevant though, given that that was 150 years ago and I'm pretty sure we ( or at least some of us...) have a bit more enlightened view of the world these days.
There seems to be a hellava lot you don't know. But of course, that doesn't seem to stop you running your mouth.

You're expecting way too much intelligence/common sense from number Onegoof.

Claiming the people who are objecting to the name consist of effeminate men and little girls.

AFAIK, the people who are objecting are American Indians, and I have no way of gauging their masculinity, and the women (james rage would probably prefer 'squaws'), are not little girls as far as I can see.
